can we get Toji reacting to reader's pregnancy

Ever since finding out that you’re eating for two, you’ve found yourself distressed. Not because this isn’t something that you were planning– Well partially because of that, but mainly because you don’t know what your boyfriend thinks of having more kids. You don’t have the heart to tell him that you’re expecting.
You don’t know how you’ve never had this conversation before, especially since you’ve started to talk about getting married. You know that he has a teenager, and probably he’s done with that part of his life. You also know that you’d be delighted to have kids, but if Toji wouldn’t want to have a child, you’re okay with that too. Your pregnancy changes everything though.
“Aren’t you two here early?” You ask, staring at the front door as Megumi and Toji walk in. Toji has a frown in his face while Megumi walks ahead, not a care in the world. You notice a stain on his school uniform and you tell him, “Put it in the washer, I’ll take care of it, Megs.”
“No, he can deal with the consequences of his actions in his little vacation.” Toji quickly speaks up, making you cock an eyebrow. You look back and forth between Toji and Megumi, hoping someone is going to fill you in. “Go to your room, Megumi. I can’t stand to look at your face anymore.”
“What happened?” You direct your attention to your husband since Megumi listens to his father and goes to his room. Toji sighs, walking over to you and pressing a kiss on your forehead. “Don’t tell me he–”
“Got into a fight. Got called in the middle of work to deal with his ass– Hey, at least he won.” Toji can’t help but chuckle because even though he’s mad, part of him still feels oddly proud. His kid is somewhat of a troublemaker, but hey, at least the kid can fight. He says something that makes the thoughts of worry that you pushed to the back of your mind, come back and even stronger. “Just glad I don’t have to deal with this much longer.”
“Right.” You awkwardly laugh. You follow Toji to your living room, and take a seat beside him on your couch. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, you do this all the time, but Toji immediately knows that something is off. Your face wastes no time in telling on you.
“You okay? You look a little off.” Toji comments, throwing his arm over you and bringing you closer to him. You’re a little far today when you’re usually all over him. The man loves his personal space, but not when it comes to you.
“Weird day… Weird week.” You mutter the last part, but Toji hears it loud and clear. He kisses the top of your head before asking,
“You know you can tell me anything, right?” He proceeds to kiss the top of your head, and you bite down your lip. You have to tell him eventually, and you know that maybe this isn’t the right time to tell him, but he senses something is up.
“What do you think about having kids with me?” You speak a little fast, and if he wasn’t listening closely, he would have to ask you to repeat yourself. Toji takes a moment to think about it, acting perplexed. His silence is killing you and just when you’re about to repeat the question, he speaks up.
“Is this about the pregnancy test I found in the bathroom?” Toji mentions, and your eyes go wide. He’s known? He’s known all this time? He ends up kissing the tip of your nose before pecking your lips, “I’m happy with anything as long as I get to do it with you.”
“What about the comment that you made–” You begin and he interrupts you.
“Was about Megumi, I’m making sure this one isn’t a troublemaker.” Toji clarifies as his hand goes to your lower abdomen. “I’m excited about this. I was wondering how long it’d take you to share.”
“Next time, speak up, I was scaring myself to death.” You lightly slap his chest, and he chuckles. You’re glaring at him, while he smirks at you. “You’re in so much trouble right now. Why didn’t you tell me immediately?”
“Where’s the fun in that?”

from the start — fushiguro megumi.
“You’re now my friend, Fushiguro–kun!” You smile at him, turning to your snack pile and handing him one. It was a panda bread, one of those he sees at the convenience stores. “Here, as a token of our friendship!” He blinked. “...It’s okay. You can keep it. I’m not hungry—” You pouted, pushing it toward his arm. “But Fushiguro-kun, these are good! If you take them, you end up making a wish that our friendship is sweet too!” “Huh? There’s no such thing as that.”

MEGUMI REMEMBERS THE DAY HE MET YOU. The sun was shining brightly that day. He could remember how the golden rays cast a warm, inviting glow over the middle school courtyard. Students milled about, enjoying their lunch break under the clear, blue sky. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and chatter, a vibrant tapestry of youthful exuberance.
Fushiguro Megumi doesn’t really remember when he ever partook in anything that big. Even in kindergarten, he really didn’t find himself in a big group of people, messing about. It’s something that Gojo Satoru had consistently teased him about for years. It’s not that he didn’t want to. He just didn’t know how. And if anything, it frustrates him. Because he does want to. He wants to reach out to someone and talk to them. Even just one. But he knows his reputation wouldn’t make it easy.
He was known in school to be someone who got into trouble. And it makes it even more hard, knowing that Gojo manages to make every bit of trouble and complaint go away. a flick of a finger. Even back then, whatever the trouble — Gojo Satoru would insist.
Of course, he lectures him here and there, as any pseudo–parent would. Yet he still saves him, no matter the trouble. But it’s not like Megumi wanted trouble. Somehow, it always just finds him. Because if he was being truly honest with himself, Fushiguro Megumi doesn’t like injustice. And he hates it even more when it’s done to people minding their own business.
That’s how Megumi met you. On the third day of the school year, it was a chilly afternoon. You sat on a bench, unbothered, watching the chaos unfold with a peaceful expression as you prepared to eat lunch. The sound of laughter and chatter filled the air, people making friends and people talking about in their freetime.
He saw you from one of the windows by the second floor. He already ate his lunch with his sister a while ago, but he wasn’t particularly hungry and her friends had come over to their spot. So, he just left to go look at the school through a window and enjoy the weather.
And then he stops at you. You were so quiet, but he could feel it. How your energy just bursts from within you. You smiled happily as your focus was fully on the carefully packed lunch box resting on your lap, filled with your favorite snacks. You seemed content with some silence, it didn’t bother you. You were just excited to eat well.
The serenity was abruptly interrupted when a sleazy boy, with a smirk that revealed a missing tooth, snatched the lunch box from your hands. Megumi always hated the kid the moment he met him too. He was a senior, but he acted like he owned the place. You would think that he would learn his lesson being knocked out by him. But he didn’t. And that annoys Megumi. Because he could continue to do horrible things. Like now. That sleazy boy’s eyes gleamed mischievously as he darted away, leaving you momentarily stunned.
You quickly stood up and shouted, your voice slightly trembling, "Hey! Give that back!"
Megumi didn’t know how fast reacted. Jumping from out the window and into the scene, it would have taken someone much longer. But he took no time at all. That sleazy boy can feel it. Fushiguro Megumi, famed for his deeply sharp gaze. He approached the boy with the stolen lunch box and effortlessly blocked his path.
"Hand it over, scum." he said, his voice calm but commanding, leaving no room for negotiation. “Or do you want a repeat of what happened last time, huh?”
The elder boy hesitated, caught off guard by the sudden confrontation, and glanced between him and you before reluctantly dropping the lunch box at his feet and muttering under his breath as he slinked away.
He picked up the lunch box and walked over to you, offering it back to you. “Here you go. It didn’t drop, you know….the food.”
You took the lunch box, feeling a warmth spread across your cheeks. “Thank you. I didn’t really know what to do.”
He shrugged, his expression easy and relaxed. “No problem. I’m glad I could help.”
You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips as you introduced yourself. “I really wasn’t expecting that. Thanks for the save. Hey, hey! What’s your name?”
“I’m Fushiguro. Fushiguro Megumi.” he replied back. “I’m from Class 1–A.”
“Ehhhh, I didn’t see you in class!” You gasped. “We’re classmates!”
Megumi thinks he would have noticed if you were his classmate. But then again, he did get bored and slacked about the other day. It’s quite possible that he didn’t just notice you. He shrugged and nodded at you.
“I guess we are.”
“You’re now my friend, Fushiguro–kun!” You smile at him, turning to your snack pile and handing him one. It was a panda bread, one of those he sees at the convenience stores. “Here, as a token of our friendship!”
He blinked. “...It’s okay. You can keep it. I’m not hungry—”
You pouted, pushing it toward his arm. “But Fushiguro-kun, these are good! If you take them, you end up making a wish that our friendship is sweet too!”
“Huh? There’s no such thing as that.”
“But that’s my wish.” He doesn’t know how your pout got deeper. But it suited you. “Please, just take it.”
He really doesn’t know what to say. He could feel his palm embalmed with sweat. If he doesn’t take it, you might pester him even more. And if that happens, he wouldn’t be able to leave because you’ll continue to ask him to take the panda bread. He could feel heat rising in him. He could feel it even in his ears.
“Alright, fine. Megumi relented, taking the panda bread from your hand. The soft packaging crinkled as he reluctantly accepted the snack, feeling the eyes of several classmates on him. It was strange, this sudden attention, but there was something about your insistence that he couldn’t quite ignore.
You beamed, satisfaction lighting up your face as if you’d achieved a small victory. “Yay! Now we’re officially friends!”
Megumi glanced at the panda bread, his expression softening despite himself. He supposed it wouldn’t hurt to indulge you just this once. It’s not like its going to be something that happens on a daily basis. Anything to get you off his back.
“Thanks….I guess.” he mumbled, unwrapping the bread and taking a small bite. The sweetness of the filling surprised him. It’s good, not too sweet. He thinks it's great and he finds himself nodding in approval.
“See?” you said, watching him intently. “Isn’t it good?”
“It’s... not bad.” Megumi admitted, trying to maintain a semblance of nonchalance. But he could feel the corners of his mouth twitching upward, a sign that perhaps your enthusiasm was contagious.
“Let’s make a deal then, Fushiguro–kun!” you proposed, eyes sparkling with mischief. “Every time we hang out, I’ll bring you a new snack to try, and you can tell me if it’s good or not. Deal?”
Megumi considered your offer, weighing the potential for more unsolicited treats against the undeniable warmth in your smile. It was hard to say no to that sort of smile. It reminds him of Tsumiki somehow. It’s….it’s pure.
“....Fine.” he agreed finally, unable to resist the sense of camaraderie forming between you.
And just like that, Fushiguro Megumi found himself drawn into your world, a place where small gestures held deeper meanings, and new friendships could be sealed with a simple piece of panda bread. And somehow, when he walked away from you as you waved him away, he was afraid to admit it then. But, he wanted more.
┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓
IN A BLINK OF AN EYE, YOU WERE IN MEGUMI’S LIFE COMPLETELY. He really didn’t expect that to be the cas. But all these lunch hours turned into days together in the classroom and turned into weeks in the abandoned classroom, and as always, your new tradition took root. It was now his normal. You were now his normal. And he couldn’t say it was a bad thing.
Every day, without fail, you would meet up. It didn’t have to be at lunchtime anymore. For a while, he didn’t know why he’d make time, but his body had gotten so used to needing to find you, to meet up. He thought you’d bother him again, and you were good at finding him.
When you did, you’d present Megumi with a new snack, each more interesting than the last. Sometimes it was a sweet treat, sometimes savory, but always chosen with care and a mischievous glint in your eye as you awaited his reaction.
As time went on the awkwardness slowly dwindled. He felt like he was finally starting to get used to your presence in his life. You are his constant now, his routine, his day to day. Slowly but little, Megumi found himself looking forward to these small exchanges.
At first, he couldn’t understand why. It was just a simple gesture, after all. But there was something about the way you offered him each snack, the way your eyes lit up with anticipation, that made him feel...special. It was as if you saw something in him worth noticing, something he hadn’t seen in himself.
One afternoon, as the two of you sat under a large cherry blossom tree in the school courtyard, you handed him a small box wrapped in a colorful cloth. “Today’s snack is special, Megu–chan!” you said, your voice full of excitement. “I made it myself!”
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He doesn’t mind you calling him that. “Really? You cooked this?”
You nodded, a hint of nervousness creeping into your smile. “I hope you like it.”
Megumi carefully unwrapped the cloth, revealing a neatly packed bento box filled with an assortment of foods. It was….it was cute. It was a dog chara–bento.His shikigami dogs. You saw his shikigami before. Very well, and he could only surmise that you were just like him. But he hadn’t asked. And he wasn’t going to do that now.
His eyes widened in surprise. “You made all of this?”
“Yep! Go on, try it, Megu–chan!” you urged, watching him intently. “I made it all for you.”
He picked up a piece of tamagoyaki with his chopsticks, examining it before taking a bite. The sweet, fluffy texture melted in his mouth, and he couldn’t help but let out a small, appreciative hum. “This is really good, you know?” he admitted, looking at you with genuine admiration.
Your face lit up with a radiant smile. “I’m glad! I was a bit worried it wouldn’t turn out well. I really…I really tried to do well. I didn’t know your taste in bento that well yet, so I was nervous!”
Megumi shook his head, taking another bite. “You’re talented. This is better than most of the things I’ve tried from the other places. Don’t worry. You…you did great.”
The compliment seemed to fluster you, and you ducked your head, a faint blush coloring your cheeks. “Thanks, Megumi–chan! It means a lot coming from you.”
At that moment, Fushiguro Megumi thinks he felt a strange warmth spread through his chest. It was an unfamiliar sensation, one that left him slightly off-balance but not unpleasantly so. He realized he was beginning to look forward to these moments not just because of the snacks, but because of you. The easy way you talked, the kindness in your eyes, and the genuine interest you showed in him—it all made him feel like he was part of something special.
He thinks nothing of it.
He really thinks it's nothing.
He could feel his heart thump.
“Shit.” He whispers as he went home that day. “Is this….Is this something?”
He couldn’t sleep much that night, and laid in bed, thinking about you. As the days went by, Megumi found himself seeking out your company even outside of your snack-sharing ritual. You’d come over to his house now to study together, share stories about your day, and laugh over silly jokes that only the two of you found funny.
Gojo was good at teasing him about it, Tsumiki too but she gave you space. Still….he’d endure the teasing. He liked you—well, he liked having you around. He liked how comfortable he was with you. Even if he doesn’t speak most of the time. You were fine with that. Megumi thinks he was lucky. It was easy, being with you, and he couldn’t remember the last time he felt so at ease around someone.
But with that ease came something else, something deeper and more complex that Megumi wasn’t sure he knew how to handle. He caught himself thinking about you at odd times—during class, while training. Gojo had managed to corner him in training badly and had to ask him if he was okay.
Megumi thought he was being subtle but even when he was supposed to be focused on other things. He wondered if you thought about him, too, if you felt that same inexplicable pull he did. He wished you did. He wished that you thought about him as much as he did with you. Maybe then…maybe, he’d be able to sleep at night. And dream of you.
It was during one of your afternoons together after club activities. The birds were singing, the air was clear, the sky was as blue as it could be. You hummed a song as you ran your fingers through his hair. He was reading the book aloud. You said you liked his voice and….no was hard to say. To you, especially. So, he just did as you asked.
But now he was tired and he thought that laying on the grass was comfortable. But you furrowed your brows like you always do, so cutely —and pulled his head on your lap and pouted. You said you make comfort more than the grass did.
Megumi was lucky that his face wasn’t facing you. You would have noticed it. How red his face is. But you were too focused on the clouds. So, that he was glad about. As you both lay on the grass watching the clouds drift by, Fushiguro Megumi found himself on the verge of admitting something he wasn’t quite ready to face.
“Hey, Megumi?” you said suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence. “You hear me? Are you awake?”
“Yeah? Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I’m really glad we became friends, you know?” you confessed, turning your head to look at him. “You make school a lot more fun. Actually….You make everything fun. You’re my bestest friend. And you just….I’m so lucky to be with you.”
He met your gaze with his blue–green gaze, feeling a rush of warmth at your words. “I’m glad too….” he replied, his voice quieter than usual. “You’re...important to me.”
The sincerity in his voice seemed to surprise you, and for a moment, neither of you spoke. Megumi was often blunt with his words. And at times, it's hard for people to understand him. But there were times he preferred to keep things to himself.
He couldn’t vocalize it well yet. But at this moment, you think you were waiting for it for a while. And you finally have it. The world around you faded into the background, leaving just the two of you in this garden of eden.
As you smiled at him, Fushiguro Megumi felt a strange flutter in his chest, a sensation that was both exhilarating and terrifying. His chest was throbbing, over and over. He pursed his lips into a tight line, looking at you as you stared into the sky again.
He realized then that he didn’t just want to be your friend. Not anymore. He didn’t want that name anymore. He wanted to be something more, something….something beyond that. He wanted to say it, to make it real to you. To him. But nothing came out.
‘Not yet, Megumi.’ He thinks to himself. ‘Not the time.’
This was enough. For now, this is what he has. Friends. That’s better than nothing. He’d have to hear you talk about some other guy for now. He’d have to deal with your tears when this guy hurts you. He’d have to deal with being just your friend.
Your best friend. He can do it. He’s content. He can wait. This was more than he’d been able to ask for. He was content to be by your side, to bask in the warmth of your presence and enjoy the sweet moments you shared.
Because even if he couldn’t quite find the words to express how he felt, he knew that with you, he’d found something truly special. And that was enough. At least, for now. But one day. He knew that one day he’ll find his voice. His words will make their way to you. They will. Because he….he loved you. And love? It should always make way. It will always know how to lead him there to you.
┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓
HE NEVER THOUGHT THAT YOU WOULD JOIN HIM HERE IN TOKYO. But you were a sorcerer and you were needing training too — so you joined him. He knew from the beginning that you might be recruited by some of the other sister schools.
You after all had potential and the other sister schools would love that in their ranks. In fact, he found out later that your parents were Fukuoka alumni. They were retired sorcerers, who retired for wanting to enjoy watching you grow up. They wanted for you to attend their sorcerer school too.
But you thought it would be better for you to join him in Tokyo. You knew that being together would make it easier. You were friends, meaning you wouldn’t have a harder situation. You’d have Megumi, as you always had.
And Gojo-sensei, as Megumi calls him now, was good at charming your parents. That had been a surprise to you, but it seems the Gojo charm was something that could not be stopped. And that settled everything. You were going to go to Tokyo with him.
Though, he couldn’t help it but he worries about you. He knew you were perfectly capable of taking good care of yourself. He’d seen you stand your ground against Maki-senpai. But being a Jujutsu Sorcerer, there was no guarantee that you’d live another day against curses.
It terrified him to think that he would lose you, that he’d end up without you at all. He…he was close to losing Tsumiki already. And it pained him to think he would be unable to protect you. To think that you wouldn't come home after a mission.
Like always, Megumi didn’t think he’d be able to voice it out loud. He was scared of what you would think. What if you got angry at him for thinking you weren't enough? What if you thought he was belittling you?
He didn’t want it to come across badly. And he was already bad at explaining things. He sighed as his thoughts became heavy. It must have been the exhaustion from training. Yeah, he was overthinking it all. He could tell you well. You’d understand what he was saying.
Still, the nagging worry persisted, and he realized he couldn’t keep these feelings bottled up forever. Every day he spent with you, Fushiguro Megumi felt his heart swell with emotions he couldn’t quite articulate.
It was becoming harder to ignore the way his thoughts wandered to you during missions, how his heart skipped a beat when you smiled at him, and how the mere thought of losing you was unbearable. If he didn’t say something soon, he might explode, and that would be both messy and embarrassing.
So, he decided that today was the day he would finally confess. He had to. There was no going back on this. He was in love with you from the start. He knew that. Backing out now….he’d just suffer. And so his free day was spent thinking about you and lamenting about you.
He spent the morning overthinking every possible outcome, mentally rehearsing what he would say. He had even considered writing down his feelings, but each attempt ended up crumpled in the wastebasket. He was at one point close to breaking his mirror. But he realized that would make him worry more because of bad luck. So he stopped.
The entire day had passed, and Megumi still hadn’t managed to confess his feelings. He’d woken up with every intention of telling you how he felt, but each opportunity slipped through his fingers like sand.
In the cafeteria during breakfast, he’d seen you sitting at your usual spot, animatedly discussing the latest manga you were reading. Megumi had slid into the seat across from you, silently willing himself to say something—anything. Instead, he sat there, listening to you talk about what you were excited about today, nodding along as you spoke.
“...and then I found out there’s going to be a new chapter released next week!” you said, your eyes bright with enthusiasm. “Can you believe it, Megumi? I’ve been waiting for this arc for months!”
Megumi forced a smile, trying to focus on your words instead of the nervous energy buzzing inside him. “That’s great.” he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m glad you’re excited.”
You raised an eyebrow, sensing something was off. “You okay? You seem a little...distracted.”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he lied, avoiding your gaze. “Just thinking......about some stuff.”
You accepted his answer, but he could tell you weren’t entirely convinced. You always knew what he looked like when he’s lying. But you let him do it. You don’t think that you should pry. He will open up eventually. He will tell you what’s wrong when he's ready. He always has.
Later, as the two of you went for a walk around the school grounds, Megumi tried to muster up the courage to finally speak his mind. The sun was high in the sky, casting dappled shadows through the trees as you strolled along the path. You walked close enough that your shoulders occasionally brushed, sending a thrill through Megumi each time.
“This weather is perfect these days, you know!” you remarked, tilting your head back to gaze at the sky. The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over everything it touched. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, filling the air with the fresh scent of summer. “It’s days like this that make everything feel...right, you know?”
Megumi nodded, silently agreeing as he walked beside you. He couldn’t help but notice how the sunlight highlighted the contours of your face, making you look almost ethereal. Your hair fluttered slightly in the breeze, and he found himself mesmerized by the simple beauty of the moment.
The two of you had fallen into a comfortable rhythm, your footsteps in sync as you meandered through the school grounds. The path was lined with vibrant flowers, their petals swaying gently in the breeze, adding a splash of color to the serene scene. It was a perfect setting, and Megumi knew it was the right time to speak his heart.
He could feel the words forming in his throat, the weight of them pressing against his chest. Every time he opened his mouth to speak, doubt crept in and silenced him. What if he messed up? What if he said the wrong thing and ruined everything?
He glanced at you, searching for a sign, anything that might give him the courage to speak. Your expression was peaceful, content, as you took in the beauty around you. It was moments like these that reminded him of why he’d fallen for you in the first place.
He took a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill his lungs. His heart was pounding, a relentless drumbeat that seemed to echo in his ears. Megumi knew he couldn’t let this chance slip away, not again.
“You know….” he began hesitantly, trying to sound casual despite the nerves bubbling inside him, “I’ve been thinking a lot lately.”
You turned your gaze to him, curiosity sparkling in your eyes. “Oh? About what?”
Megumi hesitated, momentarily losing his nerve. His mind raced through all the possible ways to say what he needed to. Finally, he forced himself to speak, his voice quiet but determined. He looked at you. Your eyes were the clearest he had ever seen. It took his breath away for a moment. You pat him. He forgot how to breathe.
As you walked side by side, Megumi found himself growing increasingly tense, his nerves threatening to overwhelm him. He had been working up the courage to tell you how he felt, but now that the moment was here, his heart was racing so fast that he almost forgot to breathe.
“Are you okay?” you asked suddenly, glancing at him with concern. “You haven’t breathed in a while!”
“It’s... alright. I just forgot,” he replied, trying to sound more relaxed than he felt.
You snickered, giving him a playful nudge. “What do you mean you forgot how to breathe?”
He laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. “I guess I’ve got a lot on my mind.”
You tilted your head, curiosity piqued. “Like what?”
Megumi took a deep breath, feeling the cool air steady his racing thoughts. This was it—the moment he’d been waiting for all day. He couldn’t let his nerves get the best of him now.
“About us. About how much I enjoy being around you,” he said, his words tumbling out more awkwardly than he’d hoped. “I mean, we’ve been through a lot together, and...well, I really like having you in my life.”
Your expression softened, and Megumi could see the understanding in your eyes as he continued to speak. His heart was pounding, but with every word, he felt a sense of relief, as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
You paused, processing his words, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he’d made a mistake. But then you smiled, a soft, genuine smile that eased his fears. His ears were red. He seemed embarrassed. And nervous. He looked so cute.
“I like being around you too, Megumi.” you replied warmly, your eyes shining with sincerity. “You’re one of my closest friends. You know that. You’re my best friend.”
Megumi’s heart sank slightly at the mention of friendship, like a souffle collapsing in the oven. He could almost hear the sad trombone playing in the background. This was his one shot to get this right, and he knew he had to be clear.
“Yeah, but I mean...I like you as more than just a friend.” he blurted out, his words coming out in a rush like a nervous racehorse out of the gate. He blinks. Oh. He just said it out loud.
You blinked, surprise flickering across your features. “Huh?”
“I...I like you,” Megumi repeated, his voice cracking slightly, sounding like he was a teenager going through puberty all over again.
“You do?” you asked, your eyes widening in disbelief, as if he’d just revealed he was secretly a wizard from another dimension. “Wait, what?!”
He nodded, feeling the weight of his confession lift from his shoulders, though it left behind a trail of awkwardness. He rubbed the back of his neck, struggling to find the right words. “Yeah... I’ve liked you for a while now, but I didn’t know how to tell you. I was afraid I’d mess things up between us. Because we’re friends, and I didn’t want to—”
Before he could finish his rambling explanation, you leaned in and planted a quick, unexpected kiss on his lips. The suddenness of it left him momentarily speechless, his blue–green eyes wide and blinking rapidly, like a startled owl. You turned, hiding your face in your hands. It was too red all over for you to even reveal. Megumi didn’t know what happened. You….you kissed him? You did it first? What happened?
“Nghh—” Megumi exclaimed, his brain short-circuiting for a moment. “That was... I mean, not that I didn’t want that, but... uh, wow.”
Finally recovered — you looked at him and still clearly amused by his flustered reaction. “I figured…… I’d shut you up before you started overthinking everything. You know, like you always do.”
He huffed, trying to regain his composure. “I don’t overthink that much.”
“Uh-huh, sure,” you teased, giving him a playful nudge. “So, does this mean we’re a thing now? Do I get to call you my boyfriend?”
Megumi hesitated, his usual stoic demeanor struggling to catch up with the situation. “I guess so. If you want to. But only if I can call you my partner.”
“Deal!” you replied with a cheeky grin. “Though I have to say, you’re not as smooth as I imagined.”
He sighed, pretending to be exasperated. “Well, sorry I’m not a charming prince. But at least I’m honest.”
“True, and that’s why I like you.” you said, leaning in to kiss him again, this time slower, savoring the moment. “From the start, you know?”
Megumi’s heart did a little flip as your lips met his, a sudden rush of warmth spreading through his chest. It was as if a dam had broken, releasing a flood of emotions he hadn’t realized he’d been holding back. He couldn’t help but smile against your lips, feeling a mixture of relief and happiness.
For a moment, the world around him faded away, leaving only the two of you in your own little bubble. The tension that had been building inside him all day melted away like snow under the sun, replaced by a sense of lightness and joy he hadn’t known he needed.
His mind, usually a constant whirl of thoughts and calculations, was blissfully quiet, focused entirely on the simple yet profound sensation of your closeness. He could feel the gentle pressure of your hand on his shoulder, grounding him in the moment.
As the kiss lingered, he became acutely aware of the details—the softness of your lips, the way you seemed to smile against him, the faint scent of your shampoo carried on the breeze. It was an odd mixture of overwhelming and comforting, as if the universe had aligned just for this perfect moment.
When you finally pulled back, he found himself at a loss for words, his usual stoic demeanor nowhere to be found. Instead, he let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, his eyes searching yours for reassurance.
The look on your face—affectionate and a little amused—told him everything he needed to know. Any lingering doubts he had vanished, replaced by a newfound confidence in the bond you shared.
As the two of you broke apart, you chuckled, “See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
“Easier than fighting a cursed spirit,” Megumi admitted, his voice tinged with relief as the corners of his mouth twitched upwards in a rare, genuine smile. The normally stoic expression he wore was softened by a warmth he could no longer hide.
He hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering between yours with a mix of shyness and longing. “Can I…,” he began, but the rest of his sentence faltered as if the very thought of what he wanted was almost too overwhelming to put into words.
Before he could finish, you took the initiative, a playful sparkle in your eyes. You stepped closer, closing the small gap between you with a confident, yet tender, movement. Your hands found their way to his shoulders, gently guiding him as you leaned in.
Your lips brushed against his in a kiss that was both reassuring and electrifying. It was a kiss that seemed to capture all the unspoken emotions and the depth of what you both felt. The sensation was soft yet intense, a slow dance of warmth and intimacy that seemed to make time stand still.
As you deepened the kiss, Megumi’s initial nervousness melted away completely. His hands instinctively cupped your face, his fingers feeling the gentle curve of your jaw, as if he was afraid to let go and have this perfect moment slip away. The kiss was tender and full of the promise of something more, a shared connection that felt as solid as it was fleeting.
When you finally pulled back, your lips lingered just a breath away from his, the faintest smile playing on your face. Megumi’s eyes fluttered open, meeting yours with a look of awe and contentment. His cheeks were flushed, and there was an unmistakable softness in his gaze.
“You were saying?” you teased gently, your voice a soothing murmur.
Megumi smiled, still feeling the echoes of the kiss on his lips. “I was saying,” he replied, his tone now brimming with a newfound confidence, “that I definitely want more of this.”
You laughed softly, leaning in to give him another quick, light kiss before resting your forehead against his. “So do I.” you whispered, the warmth of your breath mingling with his.
With that, you both pulled back slightly, but your hands remained entwined. The world around you felt like it had shifted into a perfect harmony, where every little detail seemed to fall into place. You finally felt like you finally belonged where you are, in his arms, from the start.
┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓
epilogue
The late afternoon sun cast a golden hue over the campus as you and Megumi continued your walk, your hands linked together in a comfortable, affectionate hold. You were enjoying the tranquility of the moment, the weight of the day’s earlier tensions now replaced with a sense of ease.
As you reached a secluded spot near the edge of the campus, the world seemed to narrow to just the two of you. Megumi leaned in, his gaze soft as he captured your lips in another gentle kiss, savoring the newfound closeness you both had discovered. The kiss was tender and unhurried, a shared promise of more to come, until—
“Hey, lovebirds! Time’s up!”
The sudden intrusion of Gojo Satoru’s voice startled both of you. You pulled away, cheeks flushed, to see Gojo Satoru standing a few paces away with his trademark blindfold, that ridiculously dashing wide grin and a mockingly exaggerated pout.
“Having a moment?" With that, Gojo turned on his heel, his laughter echoing as he walked away, leaving you and Megumi standing there with a mix of relief and lingering embarrassment. Megumi lowered his head, muttering. You think he’s about to conduct a curse against Gojo Satoru.
Megumi’s eyes widened in surprise, and he quickly stepped back, trying to regain his composure. His face was a deep shade of red, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, clearly caught off guard.
“Gojo-sensei, what—” he mumbled, clearly flustered. “We were just—”
You turned to Megumi, who was still trying to compose himself, and said with a smirk, “Well, I guess our moment’s been officially interrupted.”
Megumi sighed, shaking his head with a faint smile. “Yeah, thanks to Gojo-sensei. But... I guess it’s kind of funny.”
You nodded, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. “It is. And at least we know we have his approval.”
“We don’t need it.”
“He’s….he’s your dad, isn’t he?”
“Hgh— no he’s not!”
“But—”
“No, he’s not!”
“Ah, they’re arguing. Their first couple argument!” Gojo Satoru says, still laughing. “True love!”
“Shut up, Gojo–sensei!”

TOO LATE TO BE YOUR FIRST LOVE, BUT I’LL ALWAYS BE YOUR FAVORITE — MEGUMI FUSHIGURO
⋆。˚ ❀ summary: megumi has known you since childhood as his sister’s annoying friend. now, years later, he sees you at a nice restaurant and wonders why you’re all alone. ⋆。˚ ❀ contents: fem!reader, fluff, aged up au, gojo is…here xD, bsf brother / sister’s bsf au, reader wears a dress, megumi checks reader out, reader gets stood up by her ex womp womp… ⋆。˚ ❀ wc: 1.9k+ ⋆。˚ ❀ a/n: first jjk fic and i’m starting it off with a banger cliche ! i can’t help it okay megumi’s sister is soooo pretty pls by my bsf in another life :3 also ik this title is so long i literally could not think of anything so i was like okay yeah sure let’s listen to miss sabrina carpenter and then bam! here we go i guess!
“Be good to my kouhai, okay Megumi-chan?”
Those were the words that rung through his head as he saw you sitting at a table for two, alone and dolled up in a nice dress with pearls around your neck.
Megumi didn’t claim to be an expert in your life or personal preferences, but from what he did know of you, you weren’t exactly the type to take yourself out on a date all alone. It drew too much unwanted attention towards you that you likely did not want to deal with.
That was something he certainly resonated with.
After watching you pick up your glass of water and put it down five times all in the span of one minute, he almost felt bad enough for you to head over there and take you out of your misery. Unfortunately, an aggravating voice beside him reminded Megumi why he was in this fancy restaurant in the first place.
“Isn’t that right, Megumi-kun?”
“Huh?” he asked, turning his attention back to his own table.
Gojo was leaning forward on the table with a smug look on his face, a look that Megumi learned was never good. Although Gojo had shades on blocking his gaze, Megumi sensed Gojo was looking directly at you.
“I said she’s pretty, isn’t she?”
Megumi glared at the white-haired pervert with an irritated look on his face. “She’s not for you, old man.”
Gojo laughed as he held his arms up innocently. “I meant for you. You’ve been staring at her for a while now. It’s kinda creepy, actually.”
“That’s Tsumiki’s friend,” said Megumi, choosing to ignore Gojo’s comment. “One of her closest. Not sure why she’s here by herself. I just want to make sure she’s not in any kind of trouble.”
“Well, let’s examine the evidence,” Gojo declared, clearing his throat before counting his fingers on one hand. “One, her hair and makeup are done real nice. Two, she’s in a fancy dress. Three, she’s been giving that glass of water a death glare for the past few minutes.”
Megumi raised his brow, unamused. “Okay. And?”
“Your sister's friend over there has just been stood up,” concluded Gojo, leaning against the back of his chair in satisfaction. “Now, if you’re going to do something about it, I suggest you do it before Yuuji and Nobara get here.”
“Why?”
“Do you have to ask? The moment they arrive they’ll follow along behind you and see what you’re doing,” cautioned Gojo, as if he wouldn’t join them in an instant.
Megumi made a face at the thought, but he knew Gojo was right. Itadori and Kugisaki would stick their noses into any and everything that involved him and would somehow find a way to embarrass him yet again.
Standing up, Megumi sighed. “How long do I have?”
“I told them the reservation was for ten minutes ago. So you should have at least twenty minutes now.”
“Thanks,” Megumi grumbled, heading over to your table with an awkward expression on his face. He hoped this wouldn’t embarrass you further, but he could deal with your potential attitude as long as it brought you some comfort.
Though you may be annoying at times with how often you teased him and called him girly nicknames he hated, you were still his sister’s best friend. Helping you save face seemed like the good thing to his sister would want him to do.
“Hey.”
Startled, you looked up from your phone and saw Megumi standing next to your table, his arms folded across his chest.
The moment you met his gaze, your eyes brightened and you waved at him.
“Gumi-chan!” you sang as a greeting, voice too loud for the formal ambiance of the restaurant.
“Shh! Are you crazy?” hissed Megumi, looking around frantically to make sure Gojo did not overhear you calling him that. However, judging by the shit-eating grin on Gojo’s face, Megumi knew Gojo heard and would never let Megumi live this down.
You giggled at his embarrassment.
Megumi huffed. Shouldn’t you be the embarrassed one here?
“Long time no see,” you said, motioning for him to sit across from you in the opposite seat. “What’s little Megumi doing at a fancy place like this?” You paused, gasping in surprise from a story you totally just made up about his situation, he assumed. “Don’t tell me you’re here on a date! I have to text Tsumiki! They grow up so fast…”
“I’m the same age as you,” he mumbled.
You reached over and pinched his cheek. Megumi swatted your hand away. “You sure act younger, though!”
“Shut up.”
Megumi sighed, wondering why he wanted to comfort you in the first place. You seemed just fine to him.
“I’m not here on a date,” he finally replied, hoping you hadn’t yet sent his sister any incriminating texts about his non-existent date. “Gojo-sensei is treating some of his students out for a graduation dinner.”
“Aww! Graduation, already?” you cooed, as if you didn’t also just graduate university this year. “They really do grow up so fast!”
“You can stop talking now.”
You laughed, knowing better than to take his grumpy words too seriously. Megumi was glad he didn’t have to explain that side of himself to you.
“What about you?”
“Me?” you parroted.
“Are you here on a date?”
You slowly brought up your glass of water to you and nodded. “Supposed to be…”
“You’re dating someone new already?” asked Megumi, thinking about the annoying ex-boyfriend of yours you finally broke up with a few months ago.
Hesitantly, you shook your head, toying with the pearl beads on your necklace. “Not exactly…”
He raised a brow, waiting for you to stop being so vague.
“He’s not someone new,” you mumbled, your voice clouded with embarrassment.
“He’s not new?”
“Oh, Gumi! Are you really going to make me say it?” you cried, puffing your cheeks in indignation. “My ex, alright? I was supposed to be on a date with my ex right now. And he stood me up!”
Megumi blinked, his mind jumping through hoops to piece together what you were implying. “Let me get this straight.”
You made a defeated noise of agreement.
“You broke up with your ex, he groveled and begged for your forgiveness, you agreed to go on a date with him for god knows why, and he still stood you up. And now you’re here, sad and alone.”
You groaned, covering your own ears. “It sounds even more pathetic when you say it out loud. God. I’m so pathetic, Gumi.”
“Hey,” said Megumi gruffly. “What would Tsumiki do if she heard you say that just now? You’re not pathetic. Your ex is the pathetic one.”
“You’re right,” you sniffled, nodding at his word. “But I still can’t help but feel that way, though.”
For the first time tonight, he saw a dejected expression cross your face. It always unsettled him to see you unhappy.
“He’s dumb for standing you up.” Megumi rubbed the back of his neck, looking away uncomfortably. “Listen, you deserve someone better than him, okay?”
“Someone like you?” you teased with the start of a grin forming on your face.
Megumi rolled his eyes in annoyance, but deep down, he was glad to see your smile return.
“Eh? Who said you would deserve someone like me?” he retorted.
You giggled, putting your hand over your heart dramatically. “Ouch! You wound me, Gumi.”
He shrugged.
“And here I thought you would feel bad enough for me to finally give me a chance,” you proclaimed with an exaggerated sigh.
“Shut up.”
His short words didn’t disguise the heat from spreading across his cheeks to the tips of his ears. You always toyed with him like that… There was no way you actually meant it, he told himself.
“Hey,” he said, about to suggest something he might later regret. “Instead of sitting here alone, do you want to join me?”
Your eyes widened at his invitation and his ears turned an even darker shade of pink.
“Not alone! There’ll be others there,” he said hastily. “For the graduation dinner, remember? But they won’t mind.”
You tapped your index finger to your chin a few times, as if thinking hard, before agreeing easily. “Sure! Beats being alone. And, just for the record, I would have said yes even if it was just us two.”
Megumi scowled. His poor face wasn’t able to catch a break from all the annoying heat rushing to it. “Let’s go, then.”
As you stood, you smoothed your dress down and adjusted the length so you wouldn’t accidentally flash your ass to those seated behind you. Immediately, Megumi found his gaze wandering to where the hem of your dress hugged your soft thighs. His throat grew dry.
When he managed to tear his gaze away from your body and back to your face, he noticed you looking at him always expectantly, as if waiting for him to explain why the hell he was checking you out for so long.
Megumi cleared his throat, hoping his voice wouldn’t sound too strained. “It’s a good thing you were stood up, you know?”
“Huh?” you asked in confusion.
“Your ex doesn’t deserve to see how you look in that dress anyway.”
“Oh,” you managed to say, averting your gaze as a bashful look took over your face. This was the first time in ages that Megumi has seen you look like this.
He smiled to himself, savoring the sweet look of shyness on your face. Typically, you were the one teasing him, much to his annoyance. It was nice to get some payback sometimes.
“Thank you, Gumi,” you murmured, fingers toying with the hem on your dress, only making it rise up higher on your thighs.
“Just the truth,” he said with forced nonchalance.
As the two of you approached the table, the contentment Megumi felt was instantly doused when he saw Gojo, Itadori, and Kugisaki all ogling at you with their mouths wide open.
“Oh ho ho! Is this a friend of yours, Megumi-kun?”
“Hey, I’m Itadori!”
“Run while you can! You’re too pretty for him, got it?”
You waved at the table, somehow not scared away by their obnoxiousness. “Hi! And yes, his sister tells me that all the time!” You looked over at Megumi and winked. “But I think he’s just as pretty.”
Megumi groaned as he sat down in an empty seat, putting his head in his hands in exasperation as he heard everyone laughing together. He was already regretting introducing you to his idiot friends.
But as you took a seat next to him, he peered at you through a crack between his fingers, and he couldn’t help but feel pleased at the joyful expression on your face. If it was up to him, that’s the only way you would look.
Along with your shy expression, of course. Megumi would pay to see that again as well.
You met his eyes through the sliver of space between his fingers and grinned at him. His found his worries fading away.
Megumi sighed to himself. Maybe he should thank your scumbag ex for standing you up, after all. Turns out he quite liked your company. Maybe even as more than just his sister’s annoying friend.
As if you were able to read his mind, you blew him a kiss from the seat beside him and his face reddened once more.
Gojo whooped and hollered at the interaction and Megumi felt himself sinking further and further into his seat.
Never mind, he told himself. You were still the pain in his ass that would never go away.
But maybe Megumi didn't want it to.

Megumi always admired your tenderness. Since the day he met you when he was just a kid, you have grown on him like no one else. It seemed like you genuinely cared about him and his sister throughout this entire time, standing up for him when needed while leaving him for rest when he wasn’t in the mood to talk.
Despite being the longtime girlfriend and now wife of a chaotic person like Gojo Satoru, you never lost your spark, your cool temper, your striking beauty. You are simply always the (y/n) he knows and secretly admires from head to toe. He never truly admitted it, but to him, you are like a mother, one of the most important people in his life, the pivotal point of his decisions.
It shouldn’t have been such a big surprise then when he accidentally called you mom in front of basically everyone.
A brief moment of thoughtlessness in the middle of pure chaos. He didn’t put much thought into his words until they eventually slipped off his tongue with no turning back.
“Can we talk about this later mom?”
Gojo stand right by your side, hand casually placed around your hip like usual when his eyes dart towards Megumi immediately. Did he hear that correctly? Did Megumi-chan just call you “mom”?
“What did you just say, Megumi-chan?”
Fuck fuck fuck. A wave of embarrassment rolls over Megumi immediately, gaze fixed to the ground. He just called you mom. Fuck, he just called you mom! Not only in front of Gojo, but Yuji, Nanami and Nobara. This is bad. Very very bad.
“Megumi…”, you breathe out, tears stinging in your eyes immediately.
While you were always keen to give Megumi the best life possible in this cruel world, you never imagined that he’d see you as someone this important in his life. You it’s not always easy, living with Satoru and you. After all, he is the most chaotic person you know while you are the complete opposite of him. It never seemed as if Megumi enjoyed your company this much. While staying with you more than with Satoru, nothing like that ever slipped off his tongue.
But right now, he called you mom. He really called you mom.
“Sorry”, he mumbles, turning away from your widen eyes.
Fuck, how embarrassing. You must think he’s a total freak for saying something like that. Especially given the fact that you and Satoru don’t have any kids yet. Was has gotten into him?
Nanami’s eyes are darted towards him in silence, Nobara and Yuji giggling to themselves while all Megumi is able to do is hiding his blushing face in his uniform. He needs to get away from here. Fast.
Faster than any of you are able to react, he storms out of the room, leaving especially Satoru and you in pure shock.
“I think he really called you mom, darling”, Satoru breathes out.
You wipe your eyes, tears threatening to fall down your eyes.
“I never thought he’d see me like this. It might seem a little stupid, but…Megumi is like a son to me. To know that he feels the same about me is just…so overwhelming…”
Satoru can’t help but admire you. That little blush that creeps up your face, how you smile into yourself like a little child. All these nights you spent by Megumi’s side, caring for him and his sister when sick, having serious conversations with him when he caused trouble.
It dawns to him. You’d be such a good mom. In fact, this is what you already are to Megumi. All this time, Satoru never thought about having his own kids. Still being young, putting you and potential kids in the risk of this cruel world. But seeing you like this, all flustered by Megumi’s innocent words, totally amazed by the word “mum”. Maybe, just maybe…The thought of a baby in your arms crosses his mind, how you hold its tiny hands while humming it to sleep.
“I will look after him”, you announce, fumbling with your hands nervously while everyone around you just stands there bamboozled.
“Hey”, you greet him gently, sitting down beside him on the bench that overlooks the whole area.
His head rests in his hands, gaze fixed on the ground.
“I didn’t mean to say that”, he begins rapidly.
You bring your legs up, hugging them tightly while smiling down at him.
“I don’t have a problem with that at all. It’s just that…I never thought you’d see me as something other than Satoru Gojo’s wife. But I don’t want to interpret too much into it. After all, it was just a slip of your tongue, right? Just wanted to make sure you don’t feel bad or something. Don’t worry about it.”
With one gentle rub of his back you get back up, ready to leave when he suddenly grabs your hand.
“This wasn’t an accident. I never got to know my biological mum. And since the day I’ve met Satoru and you, you were always something like a mother to me. I really admire and appreciate you, (y/n).”
Oh. Your eyes begin to water all over again, you can’t help but swallow him with your arms.
“I feel the same, ‘Gumi”, you matter against the crook of his neck, careful not to touch his hair.
“Now now, what’s going on here? Are you stealing my girlfriend, Megumi-chan?” Satoru’s voice suddenly questions from behind, making Megumi jump out of your grasp in an instant.
“You know you have a real talent for ruining someone’s moment, right?”, you comment dryly.
“See you, Megumi.”
With Satoru’s hand holding onto yours tightly, you wander down the way to Jujutsu High. What a precious boy he is. You couldn’t be prouder of Megumi. And knowing that you had such an effect on him…You feel like crying all over again.
“I hope you told them not to make fun of Megumi for saying that”, you break the silence, earning a little chuckle from Satoru.
“Nanami did that for me, don’t worry. What did you talk about earlier?”
“Just wanted to make sure he isn’t embarrassed and that I know it was just a slip of the tongue. Nothing to put too much thought in. But it seems like he really sees me as something like a…mother figure, I guess.”
“Doesn’t surprise me the slightest.”
Huh? Your eyes dart towards him, feet stopping right in their tracks.
“What are you talking about?”
“Well, when he had to draw something, it was always the dogs, you and him. You holding his hand, you cooking, you kicking someone’s ass. Don’t you remember how everyone always thought you are his mother? All those years he looked up to you. It doesn’t surprise me that he sees you as his mum. But I should have seen it sooner, what a great mother you’d be.”
His explanation makes your heart skip a beat. Over the last years, you never lost a word over something like kids or being parents. After all, your situation was clear: you live in a world full of danger and death. No child should have to deal with this right from the start. But the way he looks at you with a warm smile, hand holding onto yours tightly. Does he mean…?
“I don’t know, Megumi’s words made me think about having our own kids.”
“Our own kids?”
You can’t believe your ears. Even though you never admitted it towards Satoru, the thought of having children definitely fills your heart with nothing but joy. And especially his kids…
“You already have been and would be such a great mother. What do you say, (y/n)? Mind if we try it?”
You aren’t able to answer. Instead, you let yourself fall into his already opened arms, giggling like an idiot. A child with Satoru Gojo, the love of your life. Yeah, this doesn’t sound bad at all. In fact, this sounds like heaven itself.
“I take this as a yes.”
“I’d love that”, you breathe out, pressing your lips against his longingly.
“You’d be such a great dad. I just know it”, you huff against his mouth, heart jumping up and down in joy.
“Even though I told Nobara and Yuji to make at least a little fun of Megumi-chan?”
“YOU DID WHAT?”

i have made a comprehensive list as to why i think that itadori yuuji and fushiguro megumi love each other and are soulmates (platonic or otherwise)
edit: i also may or may not have an entire stanza by stanza analysis of the first year trio’s songs if anyone wants that too….
i read the entire series from start to finish in one sitting for this. here it is:
saving each other without question or second thought (volume 1)
megumi: “i don’t want to let him die.” gojo: “personal?” megumi: “yes.”
yuuji eats the finger to save megumi.
note: in the manga he is not trapped in a curse’s mouth
their entire interaction during the detention center (cursed womb arc)
yuuji: “fushiguro! please.”
yuuji to megumi before fighting finger bearer alone
Megumi: “it was a selfish, emotional decision.”
megumi telling yuuji why he saved him
megumi running back to grab the name off the body of one of the inmates because it’s what yuuji would have wanted
“what kind of woman is your type?” “as long as the person is compassionate (see also: has unshakable character, unwavering kindness, etc.), i can’t ask for more.” (chapter 17)
yuuji’s kanji quite literally translates to unwavering humanity. could be a stretch, but an interesting connection considering that gege does not just throw things around like that
not necessarily a moment where i think they love/care for each other, i just love it, but… (chapter 33)
“i don’t know what he was up to while he was gone, but if it comes down to a brawl without any cursed energy involved… itadori would win.”
nothing special, just megumi appreciating and acknowledging yuuji lol
before the exchange event, megumi noticing something happened to yuuji (junpei’s death) (chapter 33)
megumi: “itadori, you okay?” yuuji: “well, it’s a big job but i should be fine.” megumi: “no, something happened, didn’t it?” yuuji: “huh, what are you talking about?”
megumi can tell that something has been/is bothering yuuji, even after his insistence that he’s fine
megumi being worried about the kyoto students trying to kill yuuji; specifically, he’s the one who figured it out (chapter 36)
yuuji stepping into the fight with hanami after fushiguro gets the bud curse (chapter 48)
yuuji: “fushiguro, don’t worry”
btw, this is a direct parallel of point two, back in the detention center
megumi: “if you die again, i’ll kill you” yuuji: “i guess i can’t go dying on ya then”
yuuji checking on megumi at yasohachi bridge when tsumiki was mentioned to have gone to the bridge and being worried when megumi tried to send him and nobara back to the school so he could exorcise the curse by himself (chapter 56)
megumi telling yuuji to go after kugisaki from the domain, parallel of the detention center when yuuji told megumi to go after kugisaki (chapter 57)
yuuji: “if you get in trouble, you better get out too!”
after the fight at yasohachi bridge, both megumi and yuuji are protecting each other from their burdens (chapter 63)
megumi: “don’t tell him.”
explaining to nobara that yuuji eating the finger caused curses to start killing people
yuuji: “hey! don’t tell fushiguro. don’t you dare tell him”
yuuji to sukuna after being told that because of him people were going to die.
see: cursed womb arc; “why’d you bother saving me then?
this one is just another funsie thing that i wanted to add, but in It’s Like That, megumi is the first person that yuuji notices when he arrives at the diner, completely bypassing nobara and ozawa (chapter 64)
the entire fight with the inverse guy was just peak duo-ism, you can’t even deny it, there is so much content in there (chapter 94–98)
megumi: “itadori!” yuuji: “no worries, it’s just a scratch!!!”
giving parallels with gojo and geto when toji first snuck up on gojo
megumi, using rabbit escape: “let’s retreat for now.” yuuji picks up a bunny, bc of course he does
inverse guy: “man up and come at me!” megumi, pointing at yuuji: “that’s really more his style.” yuuji: throwing a fucking car
yuuji: “i’m heading into the station” megumi: “fine, but–” yuuji: “’if you die, i’ll kill you,’ right”
them just working together in general, we love to see it
fellas, is it gay to think of your friend during your last moments? (chapter 117)
“i’ll see you later!” “sorry… itadori…” megumi summons mahoraga and apologizes to yuuji.
post-shibuya arc, yuuji spends the entire time between shibuya and the culling games avoiding megumi in order to protect him (volume 16)
megumi and yuuji taking on the burden of the deaths in shibuya arc together (chapter 143)
yuuji: “i killed people! because of me, lots of people died!” megumi: “it’s our fault, don’t be selfish and give up all alone.”
megumi tries to explain to yuuji that they need to save who they can
parallels grandpa itadori’s last wish
yuuji: “no, fushiguro, it’s because… as long as i’m around… you will suffer!” megumi: “so start by saving me, itadori! … i’m begging you, itadori. i need your strength.”
yuuji has a purpose and a reason to keep going (see chapter 212: “thank you for giving me a role to play”)
yuuji telling yuuta to kill him if he ever switches to sukuna, without hesitation, in order to protect megumi (chapter 144)
yuuji: “sukuna is plotting something involving fushiguro”
megumi not caring about the dangers of sukuna so he can stick with yuuji (chapter 146)
megumi: “if that happens and i die, just have him (yuuta) kill you” yuuji: the point is to not let that happen
they just care about each other, your honor
yuuji trying to avoid megumi once again before the culling games (chapter 146)
megumi panicking at yuuji getting beat by hakari (more so than panda was) to the point where he was about to jump over the rail and start interfering (chapter 157)
megumi: oh no! if he gets hurt anymore… “itadori! that’s enough!”
yuuji (again) trying to avoid being with megumi during the culling games in order to protect him from sukuna (chapter 160)
yuuji: “i’m just worried!” megumi: “are you going to say that every time? it’s annoying a waste of time!” (he is stubborn, refuses to be separated from yuuji)
they are bickering like an old married couple here imo
megumi and yuuji are split up and start working to find higuruma. they are each told different locations and immediately think of each other (chapter 162)
megumi: “shinjuku…” i hope itadori is on his way there too… yuuji: “ikebukuro?!” is fushiguro there too?
another cutesy one that i just wanted to add: megumi smiling when he realized that yuuji got the points to add a rule to the culling games (chapter 168)
megumi waking up and immediately speaking to yuuji (he doesn’t acknowledge hana or anyone else in any way, shape, or form for like an hour (chapter 199)
megumi immediately notices something is up with yuuji when they learn about “the disgraced one,” and this has one of my fave duo interactions with them (chapter 200)
megumi: “itadori, what’s wrong”
always so akin to yuuji’s feelings bruh
yuuji switches with hana to communicate to megumi that sukuna is the disgraced one. hana is just staring lovingly at megumi, megumi is only concerned about yuuji
their cute little charades act, oh my god they are so fucking silly bro
megumi: i don’t get it. what’s he trying to say?
oh my god bro pls
yuuji: *nod nod* did he get it?
yuuji is fully resolved in dying because megumi and tsumiki (as far as they knew) are safe, so he is okay with dying as long as they can live
megumi is immediately worried about yuuji killing himself and dying to end sukuna
my god they are both so worried about each other all the time
megumi is quick to notice yuuji’s disposition towards hana (chapter 210)
megumi: “this isn’t like you.” yuuji: “you sure about that?”
megumi: “don’t be dumb.” yuuji: “i’ll apologize later…”
can they stop flirting in dire times?
yuuji thinking of both gojo and megumi as they gave him a role in the world (chapter 212)
maybe i should have done it sooner. i could have helped fushiguro and disappeared. thank you for giving me a role to play
megumi suppresses sukuna’s technique when he first incarnates in his body (chapter 214)
literally any point during the fight with sukuna where yuuji is locked in on saving megumi (shinjuku showdown arc)
“wake up, fushiguro.” (chapter 251)
i’ll do it as many times as it takes! “wake up, fushiguro!” (chapter 263)
“you’re right, sukuna. i have the ability to end your life. if you release fushiguro and return to me, i will spare your life.” (chapter 265)
literally all of chapter 266 bro this entire fucking chapter hurts me so fucking bad??????
megumi just wanting a peaceful life with his sister and yuuji
yuuji knowing and understanding megumi’s pain to the point where he knows it isn’t fair to force or expect him to want to live
“i’ve started to understand and emphathize with the decisions made by people who encounter unavoidable realities, like grandpa. for that reason… for that reason, i can’t tell you to continue living, fushiguro.”
megumi: “huh? what’s with that face?” yuuji: “nothing, it’s just that… it’ll be lonely without you, fushiguro.”
what if i was suicidal?????
megumi hears yuuji telling him it’ll be lonely when he’s gone and sees one (1) tear form in his eyes and immediately locks in, using his technique to throw sukuna off guard and allow yuuji to land a hit
yuuji smiling when he realized that megumi was fighting back
see chapter 168: megumi smiling when he realized yuuji got the points for the games
EDIT: OH MY GOD CHAPTER 268????????
megumi: “i think i’ll try to live for someone else.”
also, see yuuji and megumi’s theme songs that were selected by gege:
yuuji’s songs:
heart ni hi o tsukete by 9mm parabellum bullet – a song about two people struggling to recover from their traumas and pain and wondering if they will find love within each other.
the last line of the song is “will we love each other? will we not love each other? will we turn to ashes?”
itsuka dokoa de by kuchiroro – this song overall seems to be a sort of conversation that the narrator is having with an unknown person. there is mentions of belief, love, and a desire for a simple, mundane life.
love is mentioned a lot throughout this song (it’s 13 minutes long and translations are hard to find online though)
megumi’s songs:
hakujitsumu by uchujin – the song is about wanting to save someone, but also battling with their own internal struggles as they try to navigate their trauma.
“don’t disappear yet, i’ll rescue you.”
island in the sun by weezer – this song is about a narrator and their desire to run away with someone and live a peaceful life, away from their troubles so they will “never feel bad anymore.”
this song i feel reflects most with that idyllic life that megumi wanted to build for tsumiki and yuuji

Stuck in a cabin ft. Megumi Fushiguro
Day 14 of 31 Days of Ficmas!
summary — after a ski trip with a group of friends, a snowstorm traps you and the only person in the group you barely talk with, megumi fushiguro.
word count — 1.6k
content — MDNI, smut, mutual pining, mutual masturbation, praise kink (megumi has it), megumi is a little inexperienced but it’s not explicit, finger sucking (?), yuji x reader mentioned, lowercase intended
notes — happy bday megs!! my fav boy <3
it’s been one hour and a half since you and megumi started drinking and the silence is beyond excruciating.
you both have many things to say, he and you are aware of that, but somewhat the both of you can’t push yourselves to say any of it. fear holds your words back, locking them in your throats.
after a cheerful weekend with all of your friends, you were left alone; yuta and maki took off first thing in the morning and, since you slept until 1 p.m. and nobara had an assignment to turn in, yuji drove her.
megumi rented the place so, being the one who needed to hand the keys to the renter, promised yuji he would take you home instead.
problem is – by the time you got up and packed your things, a snowstorm started, trapping you and megumi in the cabin far above some mountains.
“uh, i forgot to tell you… yuji apologized for not driving you back. he was your ride, right?” megumi finally breaks the silence, his gaze locked on his empty glass of wine.
he wonders if he should fill it again.
he is a lightweight, but the wine isn’t that strong.
“that’s fine,” you couldn’t care less about yuji. not right now. this is the closest you’ve ever been to megumi, the guy who unknowingly has you on his knees, the reason you suggest drinking together in the first place. “sorry to trouble you, though.”
the raven-haired boy can feel your eyes on him, as if you’re trying to figure him out. if the wine hadn’t tinted his cheeks red yet, you would be able to see the blush on his face.
silence engulfs you again, and it sickens him to hear you gulping down your drink. with the silence, it becomes so very easy to hear all the little sounds you make, even your breathing. he’s not sure he can handle it.
he needs to break it.
“so… you and yuji?”
megumi wants to slap himself the moment the words leave his lips. what kind of question is that? he swears at himself, but he truly wants to know.
he has liked you for so long that, when he started growing suspicious about your relationship with yuji, he didn’t have the stomach to ask about it to his best friend. he would tell himself he was better off not knowing.
but yuji isn’t here.
and you… you are.
he hears it when you laugh – a laugh so genuine it warms his heart – and turns his head to look at you. you seem really amused, but he doesn’t get what’s so funny and a little pout appears on his lips.
“uh, me and yuji are just friends, megumi,” you say when your laugh comes to an end. “just friends.”
“ah,” should he believe you? you aren’t even close. why would you tell him? “i just thought…”
“what did you think, megs?” you’re fast to approach him, now sitting so close together your thighs touch and your breath fans over his jaw. you wear a playful, almost wicked, smile as you press further, “did you think i was fucking yuji?”
the dirty word in your voice makes megumi’s cock twitch. he tries to keep his breathing steady, putting his glass on the table before turning completely to you, although avoiding your eyes. does it matter if he lies? “yes.”
“why do you care?” your ambush has him almost collapsing in front of you. megumi can feel his blood running cold as he tries to think of an answer to give you, a decent one that won’t put him into further trouble. “do you want to fuck me instead, megumi?”
it is so hard to think when your face is so close. are you testing him? have you found out about his crush on you? about his perverted fantasies? are you trying to catch him red-handed?
megumi lifts his eyes to meet yours, a ‘sorry’ on the tip of his tongue when he catches on how you seem to be drowned in lust. your pupils dilated, shining bright, and a silent request you never make.
he kisses you with utter desperation, his hand grabbing the back of your neck to pull you closer and guide you through it. you straight up mewl against his lips, the sound making his blood run straight down to his dick.
as his tongue invades your mouth, you grab his shirt tight and lay down, pulling him with you. megumi doesn’t even know where to put his hands, shaking slightly as he runs them over your sides; grabbing, squeezing, making sure you are really there.
as soon as you part the kiss, your lips are on his neck and he groans, rutting his hips against your legs. he can feel his entire body growing hotter, his cheeks flushing, but you give him no time to doubt himself as you part your legs to accommodate him.
“shit…” he hisses, thrusting in a desperate attempt to have some relief. “can i… can i take these off? is this okay?”
you nod and he immediately retreats, just enough to take your sweatpants off you. too many clothes, he thinks. everything suddenly became so hot.
“take yours off, too,” you say. “please.”
you watch, lust and adoration filling you, as he stands and pulls his pants down with trembling hands. you can see the bulge on his underwear, your mouth salivating at the sight.
but megumi doesn’t wait another second before he’s on the couch again, kneeling in front of you. his hands are cold when they touch your knees, silently asking for you to open your legs again – and you do.
“kiss me again,” you notice he’s nervous so you ask, and when megumi presses his weight down on you and connects your lips again, you become a mess. “megumi…” you whisper between a kiss, moaning softly when he thrusts against you, the wetness in your panties making it feel so damn good. “are you sure you want this?”
megumi knows you can see his anxiety, but you erase it with each kiss. you erase it when you roll your hips on him, making him whimper. “yes. yes.”
you’re not sure he’s answering your question, and he buries his face on your neck as his right hand goes straight to your core. “megumi.”
“want this… want you so bad,” he whines close to your ear, pulling your panties down a little and cupping your pussy. you both moan, “shit– you’re so wet. i did this?”
his question is genuine, taking his face off your neck to look at you. he looks so fucked up and it drives you insane, knowing he was on cloud nine for touching you alone.
“y–yeah. you did,” you can barely express yourself as he massages your lower lips, his eyes locked on your face to gather every bit of your reactions. when he presses his thumb on your clit, it’s your turn to whimper, “fuck, fuck, –gumi.”
“feels good?” he’s so desperate for confirmation you’d find it cute if you weren’t so lost in yourself already.
“yeah, so good,” he hums happily with your answer, playing with your clit and circling your entrance with one of his fingers. you cry out when he pushes it inside, pumping a few times before pushing in another, “‘s so good. so good to me, megumi,” you’re out of your mind, moving your hips with him.
his chest fills with pride as he watches you squirm underneath him, hearing you praise him. he doesn’t even see you moving your hand to grab his cock, making him falter for a bit.
you push his underwear down just enough to free him, almost automatically smearing the pre-cum leaking from his tip as much as you can before wrapping your hand around him, “wanna make you– feel good too.”
he sighs in pleasure, curling his fingers inside you as he thrusts them and massages your clit. you stop pumping him for a second to collect your own wetness before enveloping him again, “fuck, fuck.” he doesn’t know for how long he can last, knowing damn well he looks like a dog in heat as he matches your movements and speed.
your orgasm comes crashing down and megumi eats the sounds you make by kissing you, the way your walls clench around his fingers and you make a mess on them being the last straw for him to cum as well.
you gasp, still coming down from your high as you feel his seed dripping on your sensitive pussy, painting it white. almost as if claiming you.
when you open your eyes to see there’s cum everywhere, you notice it wasn’t intentional. “shit, megumi, you’re so hot.”
he’s still shaking, so you motion for him to lay on top of you, “sorry, i didn’t want to–”
you shut him by taking your hand to your mouth, licking his cum off it with adoration. megumi feels his cock stir, but copies your movements, licking you off his fingers as well.
you don’t even have to think before you put your fingers on his mouth and he puts his on yours. you feel synchronized, eyes locked on each other and mind filled with dirty thoughts as you suck each other’s fingers off.
and then megumi kisses you again, your mouth filled with the taste of you both combined and you sigh, “you’re so good.”
you don’t mind how many times you’ve said it, you want to keep saying it over and over again. especially when his eyes light up like that.
megumi waited for you for a long time and now he truly is going to be good.
to you.

Part II
You and Megumi had known each other for a while, long enough that you thought you understood him—the quiet, stoic sorcerer who kept his distance from almost everyone. But over the last few months, something between you had started to shift. It wasn’t anything obvious, just little things. How he would walk you home more often, or how his eyes lingered on you a bit longer when he thought you weren’t looking.
It was never something you talked about. Megumi wasn’t one to express his feelings openly, and to be honest, neither were you. But tonight, something felt different.
The day had been long and exhausting, the two of you barely making it through a mission that could’ve gone south fast. The curse you faced wasn’t like anything you’d seen before—quick, vicious, and far more dangerous than you anticipated. By the time you exorcised it, Megumi had been on edge, more protective than usual, though he hadn’t said much after the fight.
Now, walking side by side through the quiet streets, that tension lingers in the air between you.
He hasn’t said a word since you left the training grounds. The silence isn’t uncomfortable, but you can feel something brewing under the surface. You steal a glance at him—his dark hair slightly disheveled from the earlier battle, his sharp blue eyes focused ahead, but distant, as if he’s caught up in his own thoughts.
You sigh softly, trying to break the quiet. “You know, you don’t always have to walk me home. I can handle it.”
Megumi’s gaze flickers to you briefly, his expression unreadable. “It’s not a big deal.”
You roll your eyes. That’s what he always said, brushing off his concern like it didn’t matter. But you knew better. He cared—he just didn’t know how to show it.
The two of you continue walking until you reach your apartment building. You stop at the gate, turning to face him. The moonlight casts a soft glow over his face, highlighting the tension in his features. You hadn’t expected him to look so worn out, so troubled.
“Well, this is me,” you say, offering a small, awkward smile.
Megumi nods, but he doesn’t move. His hands are still stuffed in his pockets, his body tense as if he’s fighting something inside. You can feel it now—the weight of all the things left unsaid between you. The unspoken feelings that have been building for months.
“You’re quiet tonight,” you comment, searching his face for some kind of answer.
Megumi’s eyes meet yours, and for a moment, you think he’s going to brush it off like he always does. But instead, his gaze hardens, his voice lowering. “You were reckless today.”
You blink, surprised by the sudden sharpness in his tone. “Reckless? I had the curse under control, Megumi.”
“No, you didn’t.” His voice is firm, more serious than usual. “You almost got yourself killed.”
You take a step back, thrown off by the intensity in his eyes. Megumi had always been protective, but this was different. He wasn’t just upset—he was scared.
“I didn’t think it was that bad,” you admit, feeling your chest tighten.
Megumi takes a step closer, his voice lowering even further, as if he’s afraid to let you hear the fear in his words. “You can’t keep doing that, y/n. You can’t keep throwing yourself into danger like that. What if I wasn’t there?”
There it is—his fear, his worry, laid bare in front of you. You’ve always known Megumi was cautious, but seeing him like this, so raw and unguarded, sends a jolt through your heart.
“I didn’t mean to worry you,” you say softly, taking a tentative step toward him.
He shakes his head, frustration clear in the furrow of his brow. “It’s not just about worrying me. It’s…” His voice trails off, as if he’s struggling to find the right words. When he looks at you again, his eyes are filled with something deeper—something that makes your heart race. “I don’t want to see you get hurt.”
His words hang in the air between you, heavy and filled with emotion. For a moment, you can’t breathe. You’ve always known Megumi cared about you, but hearing him say it like this, in a way that feels so personal, leaves you speechless.
You take another step forward, closing the gap between you. You don’t think about ityou just act, leaning up to press a soft kiss to his cheek. It’s a small, impulsive gesture, but the way Megumi freezes tells you it’s caught him completely off guard.
You pull back quickly, your heart racing. “I’m sorry,” you start to say, your voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t mean—”
But before you can finish, Megumi’s hand gently wraps around your wrist. His grip isn’t harsh or forceful, but soft—almost tentative. There’s a warmth in his touch that sends a shiver through you, and when you look up, you see something vulnerable in his eyes.
His grip tightens just slightly, not in anger, but in something that feels like longing—a quiet desperation, like he’s afraid of what might happen if he lets you go. It’s not the kind of touch that holds you back, but the kind that says I don’t want to lose you.
You can see the conflict in his eyes, the way he’s fighting with himself, torn between what he feels and what he thinks is right. And then, slowly, his face inches closer to yours. His breath is warm against your skin, and for a brief, heart-stopping moment, you think he’s going to kiss you.
But then, he stops. His forehead rests against yours, his eyes fluttering shut as if he’s trying to calm the storm of emotions raging inside him. His hand is still holding your wrist, but now it feels like he’s holding on for dear life, like he’s terrified of what he could lose.
“I don’t want our first kiss to be like this,” he murmurs, his voice barely audible. “Not when I’m angry… not like this.”
His words send a wave of warmth and sadness through you. There’s a rawness to his confession that makes your heart ache, the quiet vulnerability of a boy who has always been afraid to let someone in.
You swallow hard, your throat tight with emotion. “Megumi…”
He opens his eyes, and the intensity in his gaze makes your breath catch in your throat. “You mean more to me than that.”
Your heart skips a beat, the weight of his words sinking in. Megumi Fushiguro—stoic, closed-off, always so careful with his feelings—just laid his heart bare in front of you.
And in that moment, you realize something: he’s not afraid of how much he cares about you. He’s afraid of losing you.
You don’t know what to say. The words get caught in your throat, and all you can do is nod, your eyes shining with unshed tears.
Megumi’s grip on your wrist loosens slightly, though his fingers linger against your skin, like he’s not ready to let go completely. His touch is still warm, gentle, filled with a quiet tenderness that makes your heart ache.
“I should go,” he says softly, though his eyes stay on you, as if he’s waiting for you to say something—anything to make him stay.
You nod again, even though part of you doesn’t want him to leave. “Goodnight, Megumi.”
He hesitates for just a second longer, his gaze lingering on you, filled with all the things he hasn’t said yet. And then, finally, he takes a step back. “Goodnight, y/n.”
As you watch him walk away, disappearing into the shadows of the quiet street, you feel a strange mix of emotions—relief, sadness, longing. Something between you has shifted, and though you’re not sure where it’s headed, you know one thing for certain.
Whatever this is between you and Megumi, it’s real. And it’s only just beginning.

CRAZY RICH ASIANS…! G.SATORU X READER
𝜗𝜚 | CHAPTER ONE : fight! fight! fight!
NEXT… CHAPTER TWO : rare sighting.
megumi stood in front of his classroom, paper in hand and slightly trembling. he was never one for public speaking but he understood how much it meant to his favorite teacher to present. the timid boy excelled in school since the beginning, so this should’ve been an easy A.
his project was based on a historical figure, and the battles they fought. almost like a biography. he couldn’t remember all the details since he started and finished the night before, but the key points were definitely noted. yes, megumi was the type to start a project assigned two months ago the night before it’s due. he believes he works beautifully under immense pressure.
“speak up boy.” the boy’s voice was stern, cutting through the awkward silence in the classroom.
the silence was soon replaced with the students giggling. it was hard to differentiate the giggles, if it was out of nervousness or to taunt him.
he wasn’t that quiet. megumi thought that perhaps that comment was genuine, and they actually couldn’t hear him. but the mumbling in the back of the class told a different story.
“i bet you could punch him, and he wouldn’t even see it coming.” one of the boy’s whispered, quiet enough to not get in trouble but loud enough to disturb megumi.
perhaps he could’ve used the T.H.I.N.K method before speaking his mind. maybe then he wouldn’t be kicking a boys face and punching another.
now looking back at it, with adrenaline running through his veins, there was no way he could’ve avoided a fight. his fists were itching to feel something at the moment.
one of them lunged at him, shoving him backwards and almost losing his balance. another swings at him at which megumi easily dodged. megumi catches his balance, being fouled by anger, he swings without thinking.
after that, megumi blacks out and couldn’t remember what he did next. next thing he knows, he’s sitting awkwardly in the dean’s office. he wished you didn’t leave to get ice, he felt perfectly fine. he’d much rather deal with the lecture with the comfort that you were there.
the adrenaline starts slowly leaving his body as the dean’s voice goes in and out his head, like a distant drone in his ears.
“…able to knock out three out of the five and broke one kid’s nose. what would your father have to say to this?”
“he is not my father..” megumi said while staring at his bruised and bloodied knuckles. at least he would be proud that he won the fight, right?
“woah there little lady, you okay?. seems like we’re both in a hurry today.” the six foot tall male joked with a teasing and amusing tone.
you looked up, still slightly dazed from bumping into him. you had never seen him around the school, let alone anywhere. the way he was dressed would have you think he belonged in a different tax bracket.
he covered head to toe in designer, it didn’t take a genius to figure it out. the suit’s fabric looked to be around a month’s worth of rent. one accessory that stood out was his sunglasses.
as stylish as the glasses were, wearing it indoors called for suspicious behavior. it gave him an aura of mystery that immediately set off alarms in your head.
“excuse me sir, i don’t mean to be rude but you cannot walk around the school without checking in. please turn around and check in.” you said in the firmest way possible, speaking to him as if he were a wanted man.
as attractive as he was, the students’ in the school were your top priority. plus, who would trust a man wearing sunglasses indoors?!
he raises his hands in defense and flashes you a charming smile, “of course, i understand and i apologize. i was just in a bit of a rush, i’m satoru gojo, here’s my ID.”
he pulls out his drivers licenses from his wallet and hands it to you.
“you see, i was called by the dean that my boy got into a bit of a..” you watch as he struggles to find the right words to paint megumi in a good light, “disagreement..?”
“oh! you’re megumi’s fath- i mean guardian!” you continue to examine his ID before handing it back to him. “i’m his home room teacher, we’ll be in the meeting together. please allow me to escort you.”
you motioned for him to follow you, and led the way down to the dean’s office. throughout the small trip, the ice bag in your hand drips away as he makes conversation.
“soooo, you’re a teacher here?”
you looked at him funny, “yes, i told you i’m megumi’s home room teacher.”
his eyes widen as he realized that his question wasn’t the brightest. you watched as he fiddled with his collar and stutters over his next question.
“r-right i knew that. how long have you been working here? you look pretty young.” his tone was full of curiosity but his eyes lingered on you. even with his sunglasses on, you could feel his piercing gaze on you.
“i’ve been working here for 4 years, started when i was 22.” the conversation was then cut short after arriving in front of the door with bold lettering that spelled out ‘DEAN YAMAMOTO.’
you take a deep breath before opening the door, “principal yamamoto, this is mr.gojo. he’s megumi’s uh- guardian.”
you walk over next to megumi before kneeling down. you gently place the melting ice bag over his knuckles that he was desperately trying to hide. his expression was unreadable, there was no telling what was going through his head.
“can you stay with me..?” megumi asked gently. the principal overheard and dismissed you.
“miss. l/n, thank you for escorting mr. gojo. you may take your leave now.” before you could protest, his assistant was already at the door, waiting to take you away.
“actually, i’d prefer if miss. l/n stayed for this meeting. she was there, she’s able to provide more insight on the situation.” gojo then turns to you, “only if that’s okay with you, miss. l/n.”
by then, gojo had already taken off his sunglasses and you were able to stare into his eyes. his eyes were a beautiful icy blue and showed a rare genuine remorse most parents lack. despite not being megumi’s father, there was a charming and dedicated figure for megumi.
“of course, i’d like to start off by talking about megumi as a student.” you sit down in the middle, megumi to your right, gojo to your left. “his grades are excellent and he makes an effort in my class. i cannot speak for his other teachers but he is top of my class.”
you look over at megumi before continuing, “to make things clear, i believe fighting is never the answer. but those boys have been awful to him. i have tried everything and the school has done nothing to punish those kids.”
megumi glances at you, then back at gojo. gojo, the silly goofy man he is, is smiling ear to ear. it annoys megumi to an extent but he shrugs it off.
“and i completely agree with miss. l/n. i’d like the school to open an investigation and take a closer look on what’s been going on. it shouldn’t have taken my megumi to break a kid’s nose for something to happen.” gojo huffs out and crosses his arms while shaking his head. it’s times like these that gojo was glad he taught megumi how to protect himself.
the dean and gojo come to a conclusion. he agreed to pay for the medical expenses as long as the students were punished accordingly and put in another class. it was a win for both megumi and yourself. you no longer had to deal with their disruptive behaviors.
before heading back to your class, gojo pulls you aside. “miss. l/n, i’d like to personally thank you. your presence in that meeting truly helped megumi get out of this.”
he looks around his surroundings, analyzing it before speaking, “megumi has told me how much he loves your class, and i believe the world needs more people like yourself.”
your cheeks flushed as he grabbed both your hands and interlinked them with his. he massages your knuckles for a bit before pulling away. you watched as he pulled out an envelope from his jacket.
“if there’s anything else you need in life, please know that i’m only one phone call away.” his charming eyes stare intensely into yours as he then hands you the envelope.
before you could thank him or even question what he meant by that last sentence, megumi starts pulling him away. you watch as the 15 year old boy pushes gojo away from you, complaining how ‘weird’ he was acting.
you looked down at the envelope in your hands. your hands fiddled with it before finally opening it. as your opening it, a business card falls out.
GOJO CLAN® SATORU GOJO | HEAD OF CLAN | HEIR TO ALL PHONE : +81 ### ### #### EMAIL : [email protected] WEBSITE : www.GojoClan.com
and inside the envelope, you find yourself ¥30,000.
it is currently 9:57 p.m and you’re sitting criss cross applesauce on your living room floor. you watch the envelope sitting on your coffee table. you wait for it to disappear since you refuse to believe there’s ¥30,000 in your home.
it was unbelievable that someone could willingly throw it away to somebody they did not know. it felt wrong. no, it felt dirty.
a part of you wanted to call the number on his business card, demand he take the money back and block him on everything. but ¥30,000 was just enough to cover your rent for the month.
you moved to tokyo as a foreigner a few years ago and it hasn’t been easy to keep up financially. there are many things you’ve yet to try due to your financial situation. maybe he was the blessing you needed in life.
before you could fully comprehend the situation, your phone rings. you ignore it and wait for it to stop, and it does for a minute. then it starts ringing again. it doesn’t stop until you decide to pick up.
“hello?”
“is this miss. y/n l/n?” an unfamiliar voice responds back. it was a female voice that had a stern, and demanding tone.
“yes, may i ask who this is?”
“good evening, i’m yuki tanaka and calling on behalf of mr. gojo satoru. i’m please to inform you that you have been invited to an exclusive dinner organized by mr. gojo himself.”
your brows furrowed as you listen intensely. it seemed like some odd prank pulled by one of your students. but with the information being presented, it was too elaborate for it to be a secondary student.
“the dinner shall take place this friday evening in the prestigious gojo grand hotel & resort located in central tokyo.”
you spoke up before she could continue, “i’m so sorry what did you just say? he owns a hotel?! wait- what is this about, this is so much information you process.” you mumbled the last sentence. you run your hand through your hair as you begin to piece the information together.
“i apologize for speaking too fast to your liking. shall i send an email with the details for friday’s dinner? therefore you can decide on your own time if you can RVSP.”
“y-yes! my email is y/-“
“y/n.l/[email protected], yes i’m aware. mr. gojo has done extensive research on you.” the lady behind the line then starts to backpedal, “i mean mr. gojo has, he has not done a background check. he- uh, i’ll send the email. have a good night.”
the line goes dead before you can further question her knowledge of your personal information. a sickening pit starts to form in your stomach. how did defending a student’s actions lead to this? then a notification on your phone pops up.
dear miss. y/n l/n,
we hope this email finds you well. we are writing this on behalf of gojo satoru, heir to the gojo clan. the details provided below are in correlation of the organized dinner.

Crush | Toji Fushiguro
(Reader Gender not specified but reader has male genitalia)
(Sukuna and itadori are twins) (Megumi, Sukuna, and itadori are in kindergarten)
Synopsis ☆: You may have a small crush on your sons friends dad and he may have a crush on you back
Warnings: Breeding kink, choking , degradation , ass eating , nipple play (a little bit)
“Sukuna please get off that!!!” ”no!” You sighed. You haven’t even stepped inside the class yet and one of your kids was already causing problems. Atleast you know your other demon child wasn’t acting out. “Yuuji don’t climb up there too. I just told your brother to get down ” you dead panned. They’re both trouble makers. It was pick up time at their kindergarten and you were honestly kind of early. You love your sons with all your heart but they’re so much trouble, especially when put together. You told the school to put them in different classes but they didn’t listen. Whose fault is that? Not yours, you warned them.
You felt bad for their teacher though. Ms.Russell, She was really sweet. She has long, black, wavy hair and is chubby. She’s also really short, like 5’4. You honestly find her really adorable. On teacher appreciation day and holidays you always bring her gift cards because you feel bad she got stuck with your kids.
You walked inside the class filled with little children running around. You spotted the twins, standing on top of a book shelf that’s atleast 4 feet tall. ‘Oh my fucking god.’ You see Ms.Russel infront of sukuna and yuuji looking worried, and trying to coax them into coming down. Sukuna is just laughing in her face, while you saw yuuji jump down from the shelf and run off to his friend. You let out a huff and walk towards them. “Sukuna” he flinches at the stern tone in your voice. He immediately stops laughing at the teacher and jumps off the shelf. Ms.Russel looks at you and sighs in relief.
“Oh Mr.itadori! I’m so glad you’re here, he just wouldn’t listen to me today” you smiled at her relief but then frowned after realizing Sukuna was causing her trouble all day “Hi Ms.Russell, I’m sorry about him I’m sure he would like to apologize” you said nudging Sukuna who was standing beside you looking at the floor with a frown, fidgeting with his fingers. “I’m sorry Ms Russell,this will not happen again ” he reluctantly said. He’s had to apologize so many times he knows exactly what to say. “Now go get your things so we can leave” Sukuna walked away with a little frown on his face. He knows once you 3 get home that he’s gonna be in trouble.
“DADDYYYY” you heard your other hard headed child yell running towards you. He jumped and you caught him. Yuuji giggled and you laughed poking his nose. You looked to Ms.Russell and asked “was this one good today?” Yuuji took a little offense to that. “Hey! I’m always good” you looked at him with a ‘are you serious’ look. He just hugged you to hide his face in your neck out of embarrassment.
“Yes he was good today, I didn’t have to tell him multiple times to listen like usual” you silently cheered. “Good job yuuji” he giggled and signaled for you to put him down. You put him down and he went to get his things. Ms.Russel walked away from you seeing other parents start to enter. Both Sukuna and yuuji come over with their things on. “You ready to go boys” you said ready to dip. “Wait can we stay till megumis dad comes” yuuji yelled out. You don’t know why he’s always so loud but oh well. “Pleaseeeee” both twins said in unison. You looked at them with your eyebrow raised ‘Did they plan that?’ “Fine” you said and sat in one of the really short chairs that were for kindergarteners. Sukuna and yuuji dropped their bags off by your leg and went to play with megumi.
You knew megumi and his father. They literally live right across from you. You can’t even lie you think his dad is so sexy. He’s got muscular arms but a slim waist, his thighs look so thick and soft you just want him to lock them around your head and never let go. His hooded eyes that look almost seductive, and that scar on his lip made him look alluring. How could you even forget about his big fat titties. The way they bulge through his shirts, you just be wanting to rip his shirt off and take him whenever you see him.
Pulling you out of your thoughts about the spikey haired boys father Sukuna, Megumi, and Yuuji came over. “Daddy can we have a sleepover with Megumi?” Sukuna asked you. “You can’t you two are going to uncle Gojos house this weekend” “aw man I forgot about that” yuuji said and walked away sadly with megumi and a sulking Sukuna.
You heard the door open and looked towards it. In walked the one and only Toji fushiguro. You almost started drooling. He was wearing a blue, black, and white windbreaker jacket with grey sweat shorts. His sexy tan muscular legs on display. You watched him walk towards megumi and talk to him. The way his lips moved was so attractive his plump pink lips, they look so juicy and cute you just wanted to kiss him breathless. You were so mesmerized you didn’t even realize he was walking towards you.
“You just gonna keep staring?” He had a slight smirk on his face that you wanted to wipe off. You stood up “what’s gonna happen if I don’t” he chuckled. “I’d say you have a little crush on me” his gorgeous eyes held a playful and teasing gaze, you were hypnotized “he does” you both jumped a little and looked to your left. Your son yuuji was standing there staring up at you and Toji with an innocent look.”he does have a crush on you” Your kids knew you liked Toji. They seen the way you looked at him when he’s doing yard work or doing literally anything. You weren’t embarrassed at all. You’ve been meaning to ask out Toji but your schedule got in the way.
“Really?” Toji asked yuuji who nodded. “Yea he said you’re really handsome especially while doing yard work” alright now he was embarrassing you. You nervously chuckled and told yuuji to go stand by the door with Sukuna and megumi. Toji looked at you and grinned “so you have a crush on me?” You stepped a little closer towards him “I guess you could say that.” Before anything else could be said you were yelled at “DADDY LETS GO” you smirked looking at Toji your gaze lingering on him until you reached your children. “Sukuna and yuuji let’s go” you 3 walked out to your car.
The Next day after that was Saturday and your kids were at their uncle Gojos house. You missed your babies because now you have nothing to do. Suddenly the bell rang. You stood up from your comfortable spot on the couch and walked to the door. Opening it you were surprised to see Toji there. “Oh! What’re you doing here” “Megumi is with his mother” you didn’t understand where he was going with this till he pushed you inside your house and closed the door behind you. “What’re you doi-“ “shut up” Toji said as he pulled you by your shirt and kissed you.
You immediately kissed him back and pushed him up against the door. Toji groaned and pulled you closer by the back of your neck. You pick him up and brought him to the couch. You sat on the couch while you placed Toji on your lap . You groaned and pressed his ass on your buldge. He moaned and rubbed his ass on it “I want it” you smirked and wrapped your hand around his throat “beg for it ” you put light pressure on the hand that was wrapped around tojis neck and you felt his breath hitch
“Please~ please I need it so bad” you flipped Toji on the couch and spread his legs open. You kissed down his neck and left hickies on his skin. When you sat back up and looked down at him you were mesmerized. His eyes looked dazed and his lips were pink and puffy from the kiss. His neck littered with purple hickies and his legs wide open. You pulled your shirt off and slipped off your shorts. You then leaned down to Toji and nudged at his shirt “this is in the way” you said then ripped off his white wife beater. Toji gasped and lightly hit your arm “why’d you do that i could’ve just taken it off.” You shrugged and said “too much work” before Toji could respond he got cut off with a high pitch moan when you licked at one of his nipples. “Ah~ s-stop” you ignored his words and grabbed at his other titty to flick and pinch at his pink puffy nipple.
You moved to his other nipple to do the same and his back arched into you. You kissed down to his waist line and pulled down his sweatpants. He was NOT wearing any underwear. You chuckled and slapped his thigh. “You really came over here with no underwear on? You wanted it that bad?” “S-shut up.” You took his pants all the way off and spread his legs wide open to see his pink hole.
You leaned down to his hole and stuck your tongue inside. “Ah~ w-what’re you doing sto~” he tried to push your head away but you slapped his hand away and gripped his thighs. Pulling him closer so your tongue can hit deeper into his ass. You wriggled your tongue around in his hole and he squeezed his thighs around your head. You felt a bump which you believed was his prostate by the way he immediately snapped his legs shut around your head and squealed. “FUCK RIGHT THERE RIGHT THERE PLEASE~” he was grinding back on your tongue and you started eating him out more aggressively.
You could tell he was about to cum by the way his body started to shake. “Fuck k-keep going I-I’m going to cum” his head snapped back but right before he could cum you pulled away. “No no no no What’re you doing please….” He begged he looked so fucked out and he hadn’t even had your dick burried in him yet.
You ignored his pleas and turned him around so he’s on his hands and knees on the couch. “What’re you-“ you slapped his ass so he could shut up. He let out a loud moan at the action. You smirked “you liked that slut?” He let out a little whimper and you grabbed him by his hair. You spread his ass cheeks open and guided your dick in his hole. He moaned so loud. “I only put the tip in and you’re already moaning like a little bitch” tojis eyes widened. What do you mean you only put the tip in? He already felt like you were stretching him so much. You pushed the rest of yourself in him and he felt himself start tearing up. Your dick is so big and is stretching him so wide.
You didn’t move for a few to let Toji adjust to your size. You didn’t think you were that big you were like 7 or 8 inches, it was slightly thick and you were circumcised. You were pretty confident in your dick size. Pulling you out of your thoughts you felt Toji move back a little on your dick signaling for you to start. You moved your hand from his hair and wrapped it around his neck once again. You started to fuck into him causing him to arch his back and push back into you.
“F-Fuck Toji your hole is so tight” you’ve had enough. You get up and grab him by his hips fucking into him. Toji is loving this by the way he moans and practically screams. He just loves how your big cock is destroying his ass he needs you to breed him. He wants to bear your children. He knows he can’t get pregnant but he can’t help but imagine having your kids in addition to the kids you both have now. He’s close to cumming and he’s going to get you to cum inside him. “SHIT IM GONNA CUM IM GONNA CUM” you pull him up still having your hand wrapped around his neck, gripping hard enough he can hardly breathe but he’s loving it.
“Me too, Come on baby cum for me” you bring your hand down to his dick and stroke if in a fast pace. Driving Toji insane he tries to move your hand away because he’s feeling too overstimulated “I-I can’t stop~” you slap his hand away “don’t move my hand you can take it” you used his pre cum to spread it around his head and use it as a type of lube. You rubbed up and down his dick and you could tell by the way he was twitching he was about to cum “come on baby let’s cum together” “yes yes cum in me fill me up” ‘Jesus Christ he was such a whore for your cock’ “you want me to fill this hole and give you my kids” “FUCK YESSSSSS~” you both came simultaneously. You filled him up to the brim a little slipped out.
Toji fell on the couch and was breathing heavily. “You okay?” You said kind of worried. “I’m great.” He said smiling a little “Come on let’s wash you up.”

Coming Home
Dad!Gojo x Fem!reader, they have girl twins and also adopted tsumiki & megumi, just pure fluff a little angst if you squint your eyes, very domestic and cute!
And I’m sorry if I’m coming home too late🤍
Gojo Satoru was put on this earth to have children and be a father. No one believed him when he said he would take in Toji Zenin’s children in high school, and no one definitely believed him when he announced that you were pregnant with his child, who actually turned out to be children - two gorgeous twin girls.
At first, Gojo didn’t really get it when he told people he had been blessed with four girls, including you and Megumi. They'd always pat him on the back and joke about how tough it must be for him and Megumi to deal with four emotional girls, even suggesting he sneak away for a break. He'd just furrow his brow, not fully grasping their point. He was content with his life as it was.
I mean, It was challenging when he'd return home from a tiring mission only to find chaos. The toddlers causing trouble, Tsumiki experimenting with makeup on Megumi's face while a Taylor Swift song blared loudly in the background that he knows you picked. And one of those days, he let his emotions get the best of him, storming into the living room to vent about the mess, the noise, and how Megumi was being treated like a personal doll.
After letting off steam, he left for a calming bath. And when he returned to the living room to apologise for his sudden outburst, he found the room to be squeaky clean, the kids already in bed and a huge card on the dining table with his face sloppily drawn on it with a note that read "Sorry Dad D:"
His eyes welled with tears as he made his way to kiss his precious girls in apology.
Then there were the days when you and the girls all had your periods synced up, and Gojo learned to tiptoe around the house to avoid setting anyone off, which could be done just by breathing the “wrong way” according to Tsumiki. So, on those days, him and Megumi would sneak out, returning with everyone’s cravings so you could all cuddle together (much to Megumi’s dismay) for a cozy family movie night.
And those small moments - like when you sweetly call him from the bathroom all clean and ready for the night, only to ask him to clear the hair from the drain. And as gross as the task is, the way you cling to his side afterward, giving him a refreshing kiss on the cheek and calling him your "knight in shining armor" makes it all worthwhile.
Through it all, Gojo realized that despite the ups and downs, life with his five precious girls - and his quietly adoring son was in fact a blessing. This truth hit home every time he received a picture from you during his missions, like the one he got right now, where you’re all wearing matching pajamas and headbands, with a cheeky text that read
“We’ve got another one for you, come home soon? :p”
He can’t wait to exorcise this curse to wear the matching hello kitty pyjamas if it means he can be with his favourite people in the world.
More of my work!
Authors note: finalyyyy wrote an actual good piece (I think) feedback is always appreciated and also I wanna make friends on here so comment to be mutuals! :pp

my blues for my brain (megumi fushiguro x reader)
word count: 8.7k inspired by: fate by grey reverend content: angst, fluff, mentions of car accidents, hospitals, invisible string theory, me pretending gojo is still alive for my mental health
“Please don’t leave me here.”
These words were ones all too familiar to you, in an all too familiar scenario. The difference was, it wasn’t you clinging to life with blood soaked skin. Instead, it was the strange boy that had just raced out of the over-priced cafe that you worked at to make a dime during your summer semesters.
You could recall the exact, desperate words falling from your own lips as a good samaritan crouched in front of you just a few years back, your fingertips just a hair away from death’s door. In an act that would serve to veer you off any sense of understanding for your purpose in life, that person didn’t leave you to die, despite the chaos that was ensuing around him. When you woke, you had more questions that filled your prayers than thanks.
Why did you live if others had died the same fate that was allotted to your own life? There was meaning to everything that happened in one’s life— at least that’s what everyone told you when you woke in your hospital bed. What was the meaning of this though? Were you meant to find a new purpose in your life; was this meant to steer you in the right path? If so, why did you end up working a minimum wage job as you scraped up enough money for a college education you still had little to no clue what you wanted to do with yet?
Up until that day, as the pale stranger’s desperate grip on your hand slowly weakened with his waning consciousness, you were sure you had failed whatever god saved you all those years ago. As the man before you opened his eyes for the briefest of moments to beg for your mercy, you thought meaning had finally found you.
“You’d think for a café in the middle of one of the busiest streets in Tokyo that there would be a little more excitement in here every once and a while.” Your coworker droned as she stared at the front door, which hadn’t opened in exactly forty-one minutes. Who was counting though?
You shouldered into her with a half-hearted smile as you made yourself a mid-shift drink. Today’s choice happened to be a matcha latte, though you often switched it up for the sake of having something new to look forward to everyday. Peering back at her and then toward the hustle and bustle just outside the shop, you sighed dejectedly. What meaning did standing behind this counter for hours a day have? Perhaps you should be enjoying the life that was granted back to you so fortunately, you thought as you trailed an absentminded finger down the scar that ran down your arm.
Snapping from your haze, you offered her the most encouraging smile you could muster in the midst of your perpetual existential crisis.
“Staring at the door isn’t going to make customers appear.” You scolded, and she peered over at you with a bored glare, to which you chuckled lightly. “Quick, pick a syrup, and we’ll put it in my matcha to see if we’re horrible at our jobs or not.”
At this, an amused smile stretched across her face, and she quickly straightened up to look over the options. As you two bickered over which of you had more abysmal taste than the other, the rare chime of the front door interrupted your concocting session. The both of you snapped up like dogs who just heard their food bowl rattle in the next room.
Appearing slightly out of breath and frantic, a man stepped into the café. There was a determination in his step as he rushed over to the register and rested his hand atop the counter to lean in with purpose. There were prominent, pink scars lining his face, so large in size and quantity that you wondered what kind of trouble someone seemingly your age could have gotten himself into already. Forgoing your growing curiosity, you mustered up a welcoming smile.
“Welcome! Can I get—”
“Did you see anything strange passing around here just a second ago?” The two of you spoke at the same time, but he paid no mind to your cut-off question as he stared expectantly at you.
Your mouth slowly shut, brows furrowing in the process as you tried to recall anything that had happened in the last five minutes, but the only memories that surfaced were you trying to decide between lavender or hazelnut syrup.
“Maybe we have, but we reserve the right to withhold answers for paying customers, actually.” Your coworker chimed in with a mischievous smile, clearly just desperate for any business on this slower-than-usual day. The raven-haired man sighed indignantly.
“This is serious—”
“So is our no loitering policy.” You had to repress a tickled smile at her persistence. She smiled triumphantly as he grumbled and frantically fished a few spare yen from his pockets and slammed them on the table.
“A black coffee!” He growled his order at her before returning his attention to you, a scowl set deeply on his already intimidating face. Beside you, your coworker mumbled something in reference to his boring order before working to prepare it. “Now what did you see?”
You almost felt bad after the fact, that you could only pathetically shake your head at his question.
“I’m sorry, I really haven’t seen anything. What are you looking—”
A frustrated grunt from the disgruntled man cut you off, and before you knew it he was storming out of the café. An amused scoff escaped you as you watched him leave, and your coworker leaned against the counter beside you.
“Just our luck— we ask for entertainment, and we get crazy.” She commented with a shake of her head. “He left his coffee, too.”
This made you tear your gaze from the door to the lidded, brown cup she set down on the counter. His yen were still sat messily before you, and you suddenly felt bad for having coerced him into buying something. Peering out to see him speaking to a few pedestrians just outside the shop, you grasped the cup and exited your post behind the register.
“Hey!” You called out, ignoring your coworker’s questioning as you poked your head out the door. Sighing when he appeared too preoccupied to notice your calls, you prepared to try one more time as he continued his frantic trek through the bustling city. “You forgot your—”
The blaring sound of a truck’s horn sliced through your attempted good deed of the day, and you could only watch in stone-cold horror as the offending vehicle slammed into your distracted customer. His uniform-clad body jolted across the street with a velocity you had trouble keeping up with. Your eyes wouldn’t allow you to stop following the movements no matter how hard you tried though. The steaming cup in your hands slipped from your trembling fingers before splattering across the ground in tandem with the stranger’s blood across the street.
Vehicle’s horns were blaring behind the truck that had come to a screeching halt. Behind you, your coworker rushed out, shouting words you couldn’t process in your shell-shocked state. You watched with vast, unblinking eyes as his body finally rolled to a stop, and he twitched out in agony. With unwavering precision, you could swear you knew the exact pain that was coursing through his body at that moment; the fear that must be setting his wounds ablaze. It wasn’t that long ago that it was you, laying in uncertainty, at the mercy of whoever might have felt your life was worthy enough to try saving.
So, you ripped your arm out of your coworker’s frantic grip, and your legs raced toward the scene. The truck driver was stumbling out of the driver’s seat, a horror-stricken expression etched onto his features as you dropped down to your knees beside the barely conscious man. Blood coated the corners of his lips as he continued to weakly sputter up the substance.
“Oh my god,” You babbled mindlessly, hands hovering over him as you contemplated what to do. As if reacting to your voice, his head swayed in your direction, but his eyes remained shut. He was pale— dare you say even paler than he was when he walked into your shop just moments ago. “Call an ambulance!” You shouted at the truck driver, who seemed to be too shell-shocked to spring into action himself. Upon hearing your frantic order, he immediately began fumbling with his cellphone.
Turning your attention back to the stranger, you noted he was now struggling to pry his eyes open, a deep navy color squinting back at you.
“Can you hear me?” You questioned, fingers twitching with the urge to turn him on his side in an attempt to prevent him choking on his own blood. You didn’t know what was broken though, so you opted to carefully tilt his head toward you. He only stared deliriously up at you as blood began to ooze from the side of his mouth. “Is there someone I can call?
Megumi’s mind was in a state all too familiar to him though. It clung on the border between life and death, and, in the past, it was a constant struggle of whether or not it was worth fighting to get through. Now though, he was desperately grasping at the straws of his consciousness. It was his first mission by himself after the trauma his mind and body had endured during the Culling Games. After everything he’d gone through, all the battles he’d fought and the mental strife he’d worked through, this couldn’t possibly be how he left this world. A meaningless and pitiful death— is that what he would have to show for when his friends asked what became of him in the end?
“Hey, hey, stay awake, okay?” Megumi was pulled from his wallowing thoughts by the frantic voice above him, and it sounded as though he was under water, though it wouldn’t surprise him if there was blood in his ears as well. His lips parted, but all that left them was a strangled groan. Your fingers, still warm from his black coffee that had just been clutched in your hand, squeezed gently at his cheeks as though to rouse him from sleep. They slipped from his face and fell into his hand, giving his fingers a soft squeeze. “Squeeze my hand if you can hear me.”
Weakly, you felt his trembling fingers grasp back at your hand. You found yourself smiling encouragingly at him, though you doubted he could see it. The sirens of an oncoming ambulance had you looking behind you, and you could see the flashing lights in the distance cutting across the traffic. From your peripheral, you saw your coworker racing out toward you, pushing through the small crowd that had formed.
“He just— it came out of nowhere. He’s—”
“He’s suspicious as fuck.” She finished for you, concern pooling in her eyes as she grabbed your free hand in an attempt to tug you up. As you stumbled a bit, you felt the stranger’s cold hand grasp at your wrist, turning your attention back to him. “Let’s go, the ambulance is already here. This guy was probably caught up in some seriously shady shit.”
She was right, and you knew it. It was evident from the grotesque and oddly placed scars that lined his face, the strange uniform he donned, down to the odd questions and abrupt departure he had graced you with before the accident. Still, your memories of meeting the exact same fate kept you empathetically tied to his side as you peered down at him apprehensively. He opened his eyes once again, and it appeared as though he was mustering every last bit of strength he had left. His fingers wrapped around your wrist desperately as his lips parted to plea with you.
“Please don’t leave me.”
It was a cry that was so uncharacteristic of him, but he only knew one thing at the moment. The warmth of your hand and the soothing sound of your voice was the only thing tying him down to the land of the living. Without your grounding, he felt he may slip away, resigned to the fate he had just fought so valiantly to avoid.
The plea clutched at your heartstrings as the paramedics rushed to the scene. They were bustling around you, asking you questions while simultaneously shouting foreign terminology at each other as they immediately began tending to the situation at hand. Your eyes remained locked on the stranger’s as they slowly drifted shut, and he offered one last desolate squeeze to your hand before darkness seemed to consume him.
“Ma’am,” The gruff voice of the paramedic beside you pulled you from your trance, and it was then that you noticed the tear that slipped down your cheek. Blinking it away, you looked up at the man, still shell-shocked. “Do you know this man?”
“I…” Your words got caught in your throat as his final plea rang in your ears. Glancing up, you saw your coworker on the other side of the sea of medical personelle, shaking her had at you with wide eyes. In your palm though, the limp, cold hand of the stranger still lay. “He’s my partner.” You lied in a haze, watching as they prepared to carefully shift him onto a stretcher.
Your lie earned you a ride in the ambulance beside him, staring in an absent haze as the team moved like ants around him, peeling his lids back to check his eyes with a tiny light, cutting his shirt down the middle to check his vitals, prying an oxygen mask over his parted lips and expertly starting an IV on his limp arm despite the rustling of the fast-paced vehicle. They attributed your inability to answer any questions to your shock, which was partially true, but you also feared revealing your white lie to them with the wrong responses.
Police were awaiting you at the hospital when the ambulance came to a screeching halt. They questioned you about the accident and what you had seen. You complied easily, however couldn’t help but grow nervous once the staff at the hospital asked you to fill out paperwork on your ‘partner’s’ behalf.
The pen in your hand shook as you stared down at the first blanks.
FIRST NAME
LAST NAME
Of which you knew neither.
“Is everything alright?” The soft voice of a compassionate nurse questioned as she typed away at her computer, likely awaiting your information to complete his admission.
You looked up at her patient eyes, and you couldn’t hold back your lie any longer, explaining to her what had actually happened. Her slow nod made you feel guilty, as she thanked you for your honesty and explained the paperwork would be different now as they had no way to identify the stranger. He had no identification on him, and the cellphone they’d found in his pocket had shattered in the midst of the accident.
Perhaps you should have gone home after you’d given them all the information they needed, but you stayed in the small waiting room, anxiously bouncing your leg and chewing on your lip. As hours seemed to pass by, you’d perk up each time someone would come in, hoping any of the visitors would be coming to claim the stranger that was currently being tended to in the intensive care unit. They each came and went though, and you remained the only one awaiting him under the fluorescent lights.
Your eyes were beginning to burn when the nurse you had spoken to hours prior walked carefully up to you, that compassionate smile everpresent on her lips.
“I know there’s no relation, but I thought you’d like to know his condition is relatively stable as of right now.” She offered, causing you to sit up in the stiff, plastic chair.
“Thank you— really.” You sighed breathlessly to which she nodded in return. For a moment, you wondered if you were overstepping by asking for anymore details. Casting your eyes down to your lap, you chewed pensively on your lip. She seemed to take note of your bashful apprehension, smiling knowingly.
“You’re currently the only contact we have for him. There wouldn’t be a problem if you wanted to pay him a visit.”
So, with your fingers wringing nervously at the hem of your shirt, you followed the nurse through the unit and to the room he was occupying. Though you had seen first hand the damage the accident had done to him, you still had to bite back a shocked gasp upon seeing the various monitors he was hooked up to, as well as the clear tube running into his mouth and down his throat. You had endless questions for the god-sent nurse, but she had already mentioned that her shift was ending, so you didn’t want to hold her any longer.
“He hasn’t woken up yet, but they can still hear you, you know?” She explained with an encouraging smile as she leaned against the doorframe. Tearing your gaze from the various lines and tubes connected to him, you peered back at her in shock, but the nurse only nodded affirmatively at you. “It helps. Especially since he’s by himself.”
Following her polite goodbye with a promise that she’d be back on shift tomorrow morning, you were left alone with the stranger. It was silent in the sterile room, only the persistent beeping of his monitors filling the space around you. A shiver ran down your spine as if the below normal temperatures of the hospital were finally catching up to you as you shifted your weight from one foot to the other.
“This would’ve been a lot easier if you had stayed back to drink your stupid, black coffee.” You began hesitantly as you circled the raised bed. Pursing your lips, you slowly sat down on the chair beside him. Toying with the end of the blanket that hung off the bed, the ragged rise and fall of his chest caught your attention, and you wondered how much of it was thanks to the tube running down his throat. “I wonder if you ever found what you were looking for.”
As an assistant came in to check on him, you peered awkwardly down at your lap while they checked his vitals. Once done with the routine checks, you watched her move the blanket back over him and gently adjust certain chords to settle more comfortably around him. It made your heart warm that they seemed so attentive to his comfort, even if he wasn’t conscious enough to notice. You thanked her quietly as she departed from the room.
“You know the nurse’s assistant was the only one in the room with me when I first woke up after my accident.” You explained to the unconscious man before you. A fond smile settled onto your lips. “My parents had stepped out for a while just to get some food. Just their luck, huh? He held my hand while I was waking up so I wasn’t all by myself. It meant the world to me.”
It felt as though Megumi was trapped right back in the barrier between his mind and his soul— helpless to find an escape. This time around though, he had more of a will to fight. There was no way he had gone through everything and exhausted his mind, body, and soul, all to meet his demise because he didn’t look both ways before crossing the damn street. Another part of him wondered if this was fate granting him mercy. Perhaps if he didn’t die here, hooked up to all these tubes and machines, his cards held something sacreligious— a gruesome and grotesque death rather than the comparably mundane one that had befallen him. After all he’d been through, maybe this was blissful; the only happy ending that could be promised to him.
As he lay in that strange veil of unconsciousness though, as if at the bottom of a pool, looking up and barely able to see the sun’s light poking up from the surface— someone was there with him. Your voice sounded as though it was just above the feet of water that separated him from life, muffled but still familiar. It was the same voice that had coaxed him into trusting his body to let go, not knowing whether or not it would be strong enough to reemerge again.
His brows furrowed— that he could feel, and he willed himself to swim up to the surface as the soft hum of your tired rambling filled his ears. Why were you here? Why were you still here? The sorcerer needed to know, and the urge pushed him to keep struggling against the surface pressure that weighed him down.
You weren’t sure how long you had sat there mindlessly babbling to the unresponsive man. Wariness was beginning to weigh down on your eyes and shoulders though, likely because you had been up since four that morning to prepare for your shift. If you stopped talking, you thought you might flop over and pass out yourself. He couldn’t be by himself when he woke up, you determined.
Some staff had come in and dimmed the lights in the room what seemed like hours ago, so they weren’t so harsh in your tired eyes as you tilted your head back to stare at the ceiling while spewing out anything that came to mind.
“My coworker finally texted me, you know. She said the only weird thing that passed by the shop today was you. Are you in some kind of gang? It would explain the uniform and all the…” Your rambling slowly died out as the sound of sheets rustling filled your ears. In an instant, you were sitting up properly in your uncomfortable chair. His hand twitched against the sheets, and you breathed out in anticipation as you watched his face contort in discomfort. The chair you had been occupying for hours slid back as you stood up abruptly to get a closer look. “Hey— can you hear me?”
Megumi forced his eyes open with what seemed like all the energy left in him. He half expected to be in Shoko’s infirmary with his friends hovering obnoxiously over him, or even in his room where he’d awake in his bed and realize he’d dreamt the entire scenario. The blinding, white ceiling tiles above him were different from the ones he’d grown accustomed to over the years though, and the dull ache radiating through his body served to remind him that he certainly hadn’t been graced by any reverse cursed technique.
Those mysteriously dark eyes stared incredulously up at the ceiling, and you could see the confusion begin to morph onto his features. All too soon, that confusion shifted into panic as he tried to speak, only to be met by the grueling realization that there was a tube shoved down his throat.
“It’s okay!” You quickly reassured, placing a careful hand on his shoulder to redirect his attention. With the little he was able to move, his eyes shifted as fast as he could manage to look at you, wide in subtle horror. You took your eyes off him for a second to push the nurse call button to alert them of his waking. “You were in an accident. You’re in the hospital.”
As he peered down at the state of himself, he only seemed more unsettled. You figured it was the mangled state he was left in that freaked him out, but what was going through his head was the mission he’d left behind, along with the curse that was likely still running rampant. Still, his inability to speak paired with his limited mobility certainly didn’t do much to settle his nerves. You watched him become more agitated as he attempted to move each limb to no avail, likely thanks to the arsenal of drugs coursing through his veins.
“It’s alright, you’re okay.” You insisted, peering out the open door to see if the nurse was nearby. Looking around the room, you left his side for a moment to quickly snatch up a marker from the white board on the wall. You uncapped it and placed it in his hand, securing his weak grip around it before offering your arm. “Is there someone we can call? What’s your name?”
As he stared incredulously down at your offered up arm, your questions were a jumbled mess in his disoriented mind. All that kept running through his head were questions of who the wide eyed, eager girl at his bedside was, and why her voice had been the only thing he could recall from his supposed accident. Megumi’s fingers trembled as they fought to lift up the marker. A muffled grunt escaped him as he tried to get a grip on it, and it clattered to the floor along with the last string of his patience.
The sound of the marker clanking against the squeaky clean floor rang in his ears, taunting him in his weak state. Just as he began his attempted thrash against the scratchy sheets, the nurse finally stepped in, picking up her pace a bit as she saw the state of agitation he was in. In an instant, she was dialling someone for help, though you couldn’t be bothered to listen to her, desperate to get any answers out of the stranger. Once again, you offered up your hand to him, placing his fingers against your awaiting palm.
“Trace it on my hand, something—”
“Don’t push him.” The nurse urged as more staff members seemed to flood into the room. She was maneuvering over to the line of his IV with a syringe as she attempted to deescalate the situation herself. “He wasn’t supposed to wake up; if he becomes too agitated he can injure himself further.”
“Wait—” You attempted to stop her as she pushed what you assumed was something to calm him down into his line. Logically, you knew it was in his best interest, however your gnawing curiosity had you hoping he would stay conscious for the least bit longer to provide any answers. It only took seconds though, as the drug flooded his system, and the tension in his shoulders seemed to settle back against the flat bed. His eyelids moved torturously slow as he blinked hazily, and you knew the opportunity had found its way to evade you.
“I-I’ll wait outside.” The dejected reminder fell from your lips, though you were sure the staff were too occupied to pay you any mind. Just as you moved to get out of their way though, the stranger’s weak fingers laced around your hand. With the waning of his already deplorable strength, you felt the pads of his digits press against you, urging you to stay. Looking up with a quiet gasp, you found his half-lidded eyes on you, a desperation in them that seemed so misplaced on his hard features— even if you didn’t know him.
Megumi thought maybe if he held onto the now familiar presence that had been beside him all this time, that it would be the one thing to keep him alert enough to continue pushing through the haze of his unconsciousness. Whether it was your continuous, honied voice that pulled him from his drug-induced coma, or the fact that he’d pulled himself out of the depths of chains much stronger than the pharmaceuticals currently in his system, he didn’t know. What he did understand, was that your gentle fingers brushing against his knuckles was practically the only thing he could still feel, and it brought him a comfort he was not prepared to surrender just yet if he were to be pulled under again.
So, you clung on to his hand as his eyes slowly shut, bleary irises focused on you till the very end as the staff bustled around the room and spoke with the doctors. Even as you felt your own lids growing heavy that night in the darkness of the intensive care room, you couldn’t bring yourself to untangle his fingers from yours. Unable to fight the gravity that weighed down your body to remind you you had been up since four that morning, your head slumped forward and rested on the edge of the bed beside your conjoined hands.
You hadn’t the energy to think about how odd you may have looked clinging to a complete stranger as you snoozed. Instead, the embarrassment hit you when the kind nurse from the previous day, seemingly having recently clocked in for her shift, gently woke you the next morning with a prepackaged breakfast sandwich. With burning cheeks, you used your free hand to frantically smooth your disheveled hair down and wipe at your under eyes that were undoubtedly smeared with yesterday’s makeup before accepting the food with a shy but grateful smile.
You waited for her to finish her morning checks on her patient before tearing into the sandwich as your rumbling stomach was demanding of you. In the meantime, she updated you on his condition with jargon that you tried hard to keep up with, but it was offensively early in the morning. Nodding along, you suddenly wished you had paid more attention to all those hospital dramas your roommate used to watch incessantly. A relieved sigh escaped you when she departed, letting you know to press the call button if you needed anything.
“You’ve really gotta get it together soon, dude.” You commented through a mouthful of bread as you peered over at him thoughtfully. At the very least, you thought, his hand seemed warmer than it had yesterday, and you could only hope that was a good sign. “This hospital food sucks.”
Tossing the wrapper into the small trash bin nearby, you huffed out a sigh. Leaning in closer to him, you hesitantly pushed the thick, black hair away from his face, brushing it gently back against his scalp. A gulp forced its way down your throat at the sight of the thick scars that lined his eyes, and you found yourself carefully brushing against them with baffled curiosity.
“Who are you?” You whispered, and for a moment you could swear his brows twitched into a furrow.
“Hasn’t anyone ever told you it’s bad luck to cheat death?” A smoothly amused voice beckoned from the doorway.
You instantly flinched away from your hovered state over the stranger, the hand that was grasped in his tightening in surprise as you looked up. Leaning against the entry was a tall man that nearly took up the entire door frame. His hair was a striking white that almost rivaled the blinding lights of the hospital room. Though concealed behind dark-rimmed sunglasses, you caught a glimpse of his startling blue eyes as he seemed to tilt his head in amusement at the scene before him. What captured your attention most of all though was the uniform he donned— one nearly identical to the one the mystery patient had been wearing during the accident.
“Geez, after all you’ve been through, and a truck is what takes you out?” The man’s quip was this time directed at the John Doe, shaking his head with a smile as he slowly strolled into the room.
“You know him?” You breathed out in relief, watching the fond expression on the man’s face as he scanned over the injuries.
“Hm? Oh, yeah, he’s my student.” He responded casually, hands shoved into his pockets as he circled the bed curiously. “I assumed he was just ignoring my calls. Go figure, huh?”
The casual lightheartedness in his tone only served to confuse you. You couldn’t wrap your head around the fact that of all the people that came to claim this stranger, his teacher was the first? On top of that, how was he not brimming with concern upon finding the student he seemed so close with in intensive care? Your eyes skimmed down the strange uniform on his long body, lingering just a tad too long on the swirled button on his chest.
“So, what’s the deal? You a girlfriend he didn’t tell anyone about?”
Snapping up from your trance, you felt your face heat at his accusation, and you quickly shook your head. The corners of his lips twitched up in amusement.
“I saw the accident happen.” You explained, allowing your gaze to drift back down to the patient. The edges of your teeth sunk into your bottom lip as you recounted the events of the last twenty-four hours, and you were struck by the absurdity of it all. “He… he asked me not to leave— you know, before he passed out.”
“So you didn’t?” His question sounded more like a statement, you noted. You nodded with a soft sigh. Peering up at the teacher with a pursed lip, your free hand reached up to graze the oddly-shaped scars on your upper arm.
“I’m sorry if I overstepped. I just… was in a similar accident not too long ago. So, I empathized with him— that kind of fear, you know?” You felt the need to explain it to him, as you were sure you looked like some sort of stalker at the moment. The man didn’t respond, peering pensively down at you for long enough to make you squirm in your seat. “I guess I should go now.”
A wave of unnecessary guilt crashed in your chest as you slowly stood from the chair you had been in for countless hours. Giving once last, lingering regard to the unconscious man, you gulped down the confusing lump in your throat and smiled softly.
“I hope you find whatever you were looking for.” You whispered, gently sliding your hand from his and placing it carefully over the blanket. Nodding respectfully at the man who had been silently watching the entire encounter, you began walking toward the exit. As you hand grazed the door frame, you turned around apprehensively to find the white-haired man already peering back at you knowingly. “What—What’s his name?”
With a fond smile, the man looked back down at his student as if to say we have a lot to catch up on when your ass wakes up before looking back at you.
“Megumi.”
His name rang through your mind in the droning days that followed your fated encounter. With every order you rang up, his frantic entrance replayed in your head. Each unfruitful study session paved way for the cinematic replaying of his awakening, projected onto your imagination over and over until it became your favorite film that lulled you into relentless, insomniatic nights.
You wondered if his condition had improved, if he had left the hospital, if he was wondering about the girl who he clung onto at his most vulnerable. As the days dragged on, and you wistfully poured out a customer’s black coffee, you realized you had left those answers behind in the hospital room that morning. Still, the more logical part of your mind told you it was for the best given the concerningly curious circumstances of his accident. Additionally, the equally mysterious man that had come to claim Megumi only fanned the flames of your suspicions.
Despite the impending sense of danger that came each time that supposed teacher’s words rang in your head—
“After all you’ve been through, and a truck is what takes you out?”
You weren’t sure if it was your concern over his recovery, or the gnawing curiosity about the life he led that had you walking back into the hospital almost a full week later. Whichever it was, it was strong enough to push down the nerves fluttering in your stomach as you walked up to the familiar reception front desk. It was the same woman that had you fill out the paperwork when he was first admitted, and, despite it taking her a bit, she remembered you.
“Listen, I’m really sorry, but the process isn’t as easy now that someone signed his paperwork. I can’t disclose any information to you.” She explained apologetically as you slumped forward on the cold desk. There was a certain sorrow in her eyes as she watched you sigh in defeat.
“I mean— could you just tell me if he’s okay?” You pleaded, already dreading the thought of having to leave that day with no answers.
“I wouldn’t even be able to confirm or deny that that patient is still in our system.” It seemed it was upsetting her just as much to deny you, and it wasn’t your intention to make her job anymore difficult than it was. “I wish I could have been of more help to you.”
You nodded in silent understanding, offering a grateful smile nonetheless as you pushed off of the desk to take your walk of shame out of the building. Perhaps it was a sign; the thought fleeted into your mind on what seemed like the endless trek to the door. This denial was the closure you needed to move on from this bizarre, chance encounter that happened to mimic one you witnessed firsthand just years ago. In stark terms, whatever seemed to be lying at the bottom of the mysterious well that was Megumi— wasn’t your business.
In the same notion though, maybe it was fate that that oddly large, white haired man was strolling into the very doors you were trying to exit, coffee and a paper bag clutched in his causal grip. Your mouth opened and closed as you looked up at him, unsure if he’d even recognize you or care enough to acknowledge your being there. As if sensing your silent stare, he glanced up from his phone for a moment, doing a small double take upon seeing you.
“Pick up another straggler?” He teased, sliding his phone into the pocket of his uniform with a known smirk. His head tilted toward you. “What was it this time? Just so happened to be around when they mysteriously fell out a window?”
Despite the fact that his seemingly playful nature was making you feel more comfortable, you still couldn’t help the heat that rushed to your face. Attempting a breathless chuckle, you smiled nervously at the man.
“The hospital should start paying me commission, huh?” You quipped with apprehensive amusement. A short but genuine laugh broke through his teasing facade, and he nodded for you to walk with him. Pushing past the slight shock of how easily this was going for you, you stumbled after him.
“I’m assuming you’re not here to see me?”
Chewing on your bottom lip, you watched the bright tiles passing under your feet as you followed him through the hospital. Once again, you were hit by the realization that you were meddling in something you seriously had no business in. Still, the nonchalant man leading you through the hallways didn’t seem to have any sort of reaction to your curiosity.
“I’m really sorry if I’m overstepping, it’s just been kind of eating me alive.” You confessed with a halfhearted chuckle.
“Well, if it makes you feel any better, our little overachiever isn’t in intensive care anymore.” He informed with an almost proud smile.
“Really?” You didn’t intend to sound so relieved, but it was an almost instantaneous reaction.
“Yuuup. Officially graduated.” He confirmed as he wiped mock tears from under his sunglasses. “Go see for yourself, his room’s right here.”
As he stopped in front of a cracked open door, you hadn’t even realized the man had been leading you to pay Megumi a visit. Glancing up at him unassuredly, you didn’t have a chance to ask if he was sure before he was waving you off nonchalantly.
“Actually, if you don’t mind taking my stuff in there.” The teacher requested, not giving you a chance to protest as he shoved the coffee and bag into your hands. “Forgot my phone in my car.”
Your brows furrowed for a moment, cause you could have sworn you had just seen him slip the aforementioned phone into his pocket just as you ran into him. There was no time to question it though, because in an instant, his freakishly long legs were traversing him back down the way you came in. With a barely noticeable huff of disbelief, your gaze drifted to the cracked-open door in front of you. You shook your head before pushing in anyway, trying to be mindful of the nearly overflowing coffee cup that was desperately trying to spill onto your hand.
“Shit.” You muttered under your breath with a flinch as you felt a scalding drop offend your skin.
“You’re not Gojo.”
“Shit!” You repeated with a start, posture jolting up to face whoever it was that damn near just sent you to the afterlife.
What you hadn’t expected to see was the very awake and very alert Megumi sitting up in his hospital bed. His mouth was free of the tube that once restrained it, though you could still hear the after affects of it in the rasp and crack of his voice. In fact, the only thing he appeared to still be connected to was an IV pole and what looked like a heart monitor.
You could have killed the tall stranger, whom you presumed was the Gojo character he was talking about, for not thinking it important to warn her that Megumi was no longer unconscious before you waltzed into his room so nonchalantly. In truth, you expected to drop by, see with your own two eyes that the man hadn’t succumbed to his injuries, and be on your merry way.
“Ow! Fuck,” You were babbling at this point, pacing around for anywhere to put down the damned coffee cup that had just scalded your hand in tandem with your startled jump. The black haired man watched you silently, almost moving to get up to help you before he remembered the brace that wrapped his right ankle. “I’m so sorry— I had no idea you were awake.”
Your frantic apologies continued spilling from your lips as you ran your stinging hand underneath the sink that sat in the corner. You did it partly to soothe the pain, but another part of you just didn’t think you could face the poor man after completely invading his privacy.
“That weird guy with the sunglasses told me to come in, but then he just—”
“You were the one that stayed with me after the accident, right?”
Unable to gage the flat tone in his voice, you slowly turned the faucet off before finally turning to face him. In the time you hadn’t been looking, it seemed he had pushed the hair out of his face, and he was sitting up a little higher in the bed than you remembered. The book in his lap laid open and forgotten, his large, dark eyes focused intently on you.
“Uh, yeah.” You admitted softly, wiping your hands nervously on your bottoms. “You were outside the cafe—”
“I remember.” He stated flatly, making you bite down harshly on your bottom lip. Megumi was coming off as rude, guarded, irritated— he knew he was, but he couldn’t for the life of him gather his thoughts well enough to express the gratitude he felt for you. Even more so though, he couldn’t possibly bring himself to understand the curiosity and fondness that had been festering over the past few days in your absence.
A silence enveloped the room, and you suddenly wondered where the hell his teacher was— desperate for anything to break the tension.
“Well, I should probably go.” You finally mustered out, setting the bag and cup down onto the counter before turning to leave. “I-I’m glad to see you’re doing better. Sorry again to—”
“Wait,” Megumi urged, leaning forward so quickly it had him wincing with the pressure on his injured ribs. Your hair swayed as you whipped your head back at him in question, and you thought you saw the slightest pink hue on his cheeks. “Sorry, I’m… on a lot of meds. You don’t have to leave.”
His excuse made your brow slowly quirk up, an amused smirk barely concealed on your lips. Attempting to push down your amusement, you pursed your lips and glanced out the door for any sign of Gojo’s return. Upon seeing only the hospital staff bustling around, you slowly made your way over and sat down on the chair beside his bed. For a moment, the two of you simply stared at one another in silence, both of you unsure of what to say next.
In your brief study of his now conscious face up close, you noticed each sharp feature of his, from his straight nose, to the strong line of his jaw. Somehow, despite their dark hue, his wide eyes seemed to soften his face even if just minimally with every caress of his long, thick lashes against his cheekbones. You wanted to avert your eyes to stop the incoming flush in your cheeks upon the sudden realization that Megumi was incredibly attractive, but you couldn’t seem to tear your eyes away.
In a last ditch effort to preserve any dignity, you were grasping at straws to say anything.
“What were you look—”
“Why did you stay?”
The both of you began simultaneously, but his question made you clam up. There wasn’t malice in his tone, but a raw curiosity instead, an urge to understand. His brows were slowly settling into that familiar furrow you remembered seeing on his sleeping form constantly.
“I— You asked me to.” You answered simply, your voice quieter than it was before. A small huff of breath raced out his nose at your response.
“So you just do whatever strange men you just met tell you to do?”
“I think I preferred you when you still had a tube down your throat.” You laughed breathlessly, a little shocked at the sass that emanated from the seemingly reserved man. Almost immediately, he rolled his pretty eyes at your comment, but there was a ghost of a smile threatening to assassinate the cool-boy persona he had built up.
“Why did you stay?” Megumi asked again. There was more conviction in his rasped tone this time. Subconsciously, your hand creeped up to grasp at your scarred upper arm, and he followed the motion intently. His gaze narrowed slightly at the raised skin, a hint of recognition flashing in his eyes as he continued to stare.
“Two years ago, I was in a similar accident. There was all sorts of hell breaking loose in the city, so I didn’t think anyone would help me, you know?” You recounted with a sad smile, feeling your breath tremble at the memory. “I still don’t know how they got me out— some guy that was around. He almost ran right past me. I never got to thank him, or ask him how he got me out from under the car. I was already in the hospital when I woke up.”
He processed your words for a moment, blinking slowly down at your scar as the puzzle pieces seemed to click together in his mind. It sounded too familiar— just as the marks on your arms were ones he’d surely seen before.
“And that scar— you got it from the accident?” He assumed, though he already knew the answer. You nodded, looking down at it yourself and allowing the tips of your fingers to trace each curve. The corners of his lips twitched up on their own accord, eyes softening with the revelation that fate had always been on his side. “Kind of looks like a bite.”
There was a subtly bemused tone in his voice. You didn’t quite understand where it was coming from, but as you inspected the mark closer with this perspective, you hummed in fascination.
“I don’t really see it.” You mumbled.
In an instant, his fingers had reached out to fold gently around your arm. Your eyes fluttered up to look at him in surprise, but he was still focused on your mark with a soft fondness. Swiping his thumb over the raised skin, the pads of his fingers mapped out the familiar canine marks of his demon dog.
As if the feel of it ignited his memory, he could almost perfectly recall the sight of the large hound tearing through the wrecked car as Megumi exorcised the curse that had been at the cusp of the mangled traffic jam. Working on his command, the boy watched as the dog emerged, dragging a girl out of the rubble by her arm. The skin around the bite was already bloodied and bruised, but you certainly still had more of a chance of survival than you had before the damned bite.
At once, there was an understanding in his still foggy mind that the machinery of right and wrong he had grown accustomed to over the years was far more prophetic than he ever cared to give it credit for. It didn’t matter what reason you gave him for staying by his side that night, because he already understood it wholeheartedly on a much different level than he had anticipated. Megumi had always been the type to search for reason in his own kindness while cynically picking apart the kindness of others. After all he’d been through, perhaps this was the final nail in the coffin of his nihilistic pattern of viewing his moral compass.
“See, Megumi? I told you your knight in shining armor would come back for you!” That familiarly sarcastic voice that you had now been able to name Gojo, had the both of you flinching back from the unexpectedly intimate moment. Megumi’s face seemed to sour instantly as the man strolled into the room with a wide smile. “This kid was driving me insane, asking me about you as soon as they pulled that tube out of his throat.”
The patient grumbled, and if he had more strength and less shit hooked up to him, he would have thrown a pillow at his teacher. Glaring dangerously at him, Megumi swatted his hand away as the older man began to ruffle at his hair in mock affection. Despite his clear mortification, you smiled amusedly at the scene before you.
“Thanks for looking after the little guy for me.”
“I’m starting to think I should get a job here.” You joked back as you stood from your chair. You looked back at Megumi, who’s hard gaze was slowly melting into subtle confusion as he watched you rise. “I’m really glad you’re okay.”
You bowed in thanks to Gojo before making your way to the door.
“You’re leaving?” Megumi stopped you at the exit for the second time that day. Had you looked now, you would have caught the deadly glare he shot his sensei’s way for ruining the moment.
With your hand on the door, you turned around to offer him a warm smile, one that had his shoulders slumping forward as if enveloped in the most welcoming of blankets.
“Gotta get to work.” You explained regretfully, chewing on the inside of your cheek. In a spark of confidence that was surely spurred on by the fact that you still had endless questions for the man, you continued with a bashful grin. “But you know where to find me. Maybe you can actually stay for your order this time, hm?”
Gojo almost had to turn away to hide the laughter bubbling in his chest upon seeing the dumbstruck expression on Megumi’s face as he could only muster up a small nod. You found yourself nodding along with him.
“I’ll have your order ready.” You teased with a wink. “Black coffee, right?”
The boy breathed out in disbelief, watching with pink tinted cheeks as your hair swayed behind you while you took your leave. He wished with everything in him, since fate seemed to be playing so mercifully with him these days, that his ankle would miraculously heal in time for him to chase after you to catch one more glimpse of your glittering eyes and incandescent smile. Perhaps he had already had his fill of fate’s luck for one lifetime though, because he could only remain seated dumbly on the hospital bed, jaw hanging down just a hair as he breathed out.
“Right.”

I am a SatoSugu blog but I need to have an ItaFushi moment.
Listen. Personally I’m not the type to ship something if it doesn’t have canon moments that could support it, I just have trouble believing that it would be realistic, and for a while (in the first season) that was me with ItaFushi. I didn’t mind it, but I was like “eh, it could be a platonic only thing for sure”. But now. Nah. Just. Hear me out.
Megumi always says to Yuuji before they separate, “I’ll kill you if you die.”
Which they both know, we all know, that’s a very empty threat. But the weight of it is so, so heavy when you consider Megumi’s personal motivations and core values as a person. He reveres people who he believes are good down to their pure essence. He even told Todo that a person like that is his type. The second he met Yuuji, he knew Yuuji was exactly that. So, realistically, Yuuji is canonically Megumi’s type. But that’s beside the main point I want to make.
My main point is: Megumi specifically told Gojo that he wanted Yuuji’s life to be spared, knowing how detrimental his existence as Sukuna’s vessel was to the world.
“Personal feelings?” Asked Gojo. He knew immediately. He raised Megumi. When do you think Megumi has ever asked him for anything? Yuuji was instantly that important to Megumi. He just saw Yuuji’s pureness and felt the need to protect it despite otherwise being discerning and rational—he made the very emotional, very irrational decision to go out of his way and have Gojo keep Yuuji alive.
So when he says, “I’ll kill you if you die.” when he really just wants Yuuji to live more than anything else, he’s saying to Yuuji in his own angsty-bury-my-feelings-behind-harsh-words-way: “I cannot handle the thought of your death.”
Megumi, who is rational by nature.
Megumi, who knows Yuuji is a dead man walking already.
Megumi, who wants Yuuji to live anyways, despite knowing that.
Megumi, who loves Yuuji so deeply it scares him to admit it.

Could I request Gojo with an s/o who can manipulate all sorts of liquids and fluids?
Gojo knew he was strong, but there were limits to his abilities.
The first and most glaring of which was that there was only 1 of him. Though his powers were almost infinite, Gojo could really only be in one place at a time. Sure, with his speed he could get to any number of spots quick as a flash, but that wouldn’t help anything at the moment as they were over run. Besides which, who would he chose?
Yuji? The boy who was scheduled to die, but Gojo stuck his neck out for. The physically strongest but arguably the weakest of them as he didn’t have the life time of training most of them had. The boy thrust into this world with the hardest of shoves.
Nobara? Their big fish in the small pond. Though she was adapting to the bigger pond remarkably fast, the limitations of her curse technique were starting to show. He would have to teach her some ways to overcome that. He couldn’t do that if she was dead, but would it be sexist to save the girl first?
Megumi? His notable favorite. The student he had had the longest. The stray he had taken in. Genuinely the strongest of his kids from a technique standpoint but had a blind spot in his need to help others. He was spending so much time trying to save Yuji & Nobara on his own, he seemed unable to see that he was about to get swallowed up on his own.
Who was he supposed to choose? How was he supposed to choose?
The choice became irrelevant rather quickly as suddenly there was a flood of rushing water that whizzed past them. Coiling through the mass as pipes burst, one after the other, in the abandoned subway. Washing away the transfigured souls and curse spirits away like leaves on a stream.
“Are you all alright?” The group looked up to see [Y/N] there. Descending on a mirror like pool from the air towards the ground.
“Of course we’re fine.” Nobara insisted. “We had it under control.”
“Of course you did dear.” [Y/N] didn’t believe her either.
“Where do you think they all went [Y/N]-sensei?” Megumi asked as he looked down the once again abandoned tunnel.
“Who knows.” They told him. “Legend has it that there is an apex at the middle of all subways where all the lines collect. That’s where the rat people live.”
“The rat people?!” Yuji questioned.
“Maybe that’s just New York.”
Gojo chuckled. He came over and kissed their temple. Glad to have them here, and his students safe. “Thanks for the assist babe.”
“Don’t mention it.” They reply with a soft smile. “Now, as for where they were all going…” [Y/N]’s hand flinched, and suddenly a figure came out of the shadows. Clearly against their will as their limbs moved on their own like puppet strings and blood beaded out of their locked jaw. “I think this one might have some answers.”
Gojo smirked. “Oh ho... you’re in trouble now…” He might be the strongest, but his partner was the scariest jujutsu sorcerer around. Especially when you messed with their students & lover.

Lost Cat Named Toto
-> Megumi Fushiguro x reader
You usually hate doing the dishes, which leaves you here: standing in the kitchen at 2 a.m. as you rinse and wipe down your dirty dishes. You find that you like this routine of yours — the warm liquid against your hand in the cold of the night, the slow jazz in your ears, the toasty bed waiting and ready for you to fall onto. It’s nice.
You didn’t like it at all at first — the anxiety of the unwashed dishes always weighing in over your head but after the first few months, you’ve managed to resign to it.
Thud! You turn — probably just another flatmate of yours you think as you go back to your routine.
Thud! This time you stop in your tracks — turning off the tap as you wipe your hands down on the table before you pull your headphones down.
You turn only to suddenly yelp — there’s a boy standing at the entrance of your kitchen. You squint, and he definitely doesn’t live on this floor.
“Sorry — Are you alright?” the boy asks, he looks frazzled — his black hair unkempt and his green eyes bleary and hanging low.
“You just startled me,” you say, a bit scared about a random guy standing in your kitchen but he looks fairly harmless. He likely lives in the same building. “Can I help you?”
“Right — I'm sorry about that. Have you seen a cat?”
"A cat?" you echo, bewildered.
“Yeah, a black and white small thing.”
“We’re not allowed to pets…” you say.
“I know, just—” He runs his hands through his hair, “If you see this cat, can you tell me?”
"Sure, I guess," you reply, your apprehension giving way to a faint smile. "I haven't seen any cats around, though."
And just like that he’s off. He didn’t give his number, name, or anything. What the hell are you going to do if you find his cat? You don’t dwell on it. You turn the tap on, picking up another plate to wash. You likely won’t see it.
—
You were wrong. It’s been half a day since you spoke to the boy and you’re on your walk to your lecture hall and that’s when you see it — a small black and white little thing moving with the poise and elegance of a tiger. You realize it's the same cat, the one the boy in your kitchen was searching for. It's two blocks away from your building, and you know this isn't a mere coincidence. This cat belongs to him.
Your heart fastens as you think of the frazzled boy and his request. But you do have your lecture and this cat doesn’t exactly seem or act like it is lost. Additionally, you would have no idea how to contact this guy since you don’t know anything about him. So, you should definitely make your way to your lecture hall. You should.
But alas, the cat moves, and you decide to follow it discreetly so as to not set it off running. You keep a safe distance and maintain a sort of litheness to not be heavy on your feet. You’re mirroring the cat, you can’t help but think. The cat seems to have an agenda, but you need to get to it soon so you move quickly in front of it, and it doesn’t budge a muscle, simply stopping in its track as it looks up to you. You kneel down, the touch of the gravelly road touching your bare knees as you hold out a hand. It’s lax, and still about a foot away from the cat.
It stares and it stares, as if discerning the depths of your soul before it patters across to it, slowly sniffing your hand before it softens, melting into your hand as you pet it. You smile, you just hope you can find the guy because you are, after all, going through the trouble of sneaking this little guy into your dorm room.
—
A mere two hours had passed, yet the cat had already carved out a niche for itself within the corners of your room. Having sipped a small offering of milk, it’s now nestled upon a discarded pillow you had left for its comfort. It’s slumbering deeply as you slowly step out, and pad your way out of your room.
You’re trying to find the frazzled-haired boy, and you figured the best way to do that would be to simply ask. You go downstairs to the social room where a bunch of people are scattered all around.
You ask the first group if they’ve seen a boy — with a description of his oddly distinct hair. And you turn up with answers of confused looks, and meek judgment. You shrug as you go to the next group, and at least this group pretends to try and think of people they may know but once again — nothing.
Then, amidst the sea of people, you halted before a young man near a vending machine. His hair, pink like rose petals, framed a face engrossed in contemplation over the choice between generic soft drink number 1 and generic soft number 2.
"Hey," you interjected, interrupting his contemplation.
He turns, “Heya, do you want to cut in? I might take a while," he offers, smiling so wide it makes you smile as well.
"Have you seen a guy?" you cut to the chase.
"I've seen many guys," he replies with a chuckle.
"Let me finish," you retort, deadpan. “He looks uhh— kinda like a porcupine. His hair, I mean.”
"I know exactly who you're talking about!" the pink-haired boy exclaims excitedly. "That's my boy — Fushiguro."
“Fushiguro,” you recant with a near whisper. “Can you tell me where he lives?”
“Yeah, he lives right next door to me,” he says. “And I’m heading up so—” But then he hesitates, suddenly cautious. "Wait. Wait. Wait— How do I know you're not some creep?" he asks, his expression filled with suspicion. "You could be a stalker, his crazy ex, or something."
"Do I look like a stalker? Or a crazy ex?" you ask, brows raised in mild annoyance.
“Well, the thing about crazy people is they look normal so—”
"I'm not," you reassure him. "And I promise it'll take less than 2 minutes for me to speak to him."
With that, he led you up the stairs to an adjacent building. It’s a bit more modern looking than your building, you notice. Checks out that this is a new addition.
As you hit the fourth floor, your breath is a bit haggled but you hide it with a discreet cough, as you catch your breath.
"I’m just saying— I could've been a stalker," you remark, your voice somewhat breathless. "That shouldn't have been enough to convince you."
The pink-haired boy chuckles nervously. "Stop saying that now that we're here. You even know which floor I live on. I won't be able to sleep at night, and it'll be all your fault."
As you approach Fushiguro's room, your heart races with a soft sense of anticipation. The pink-haired boy, your impromptu guide, stops in front of a door and knocks.
A few moments later, the door swings open, revealing Fushiguro standing there clad in loose-fitting attire. His unkempt hair is now slightly more tamed, perhaps having had to be at university today. Compared to the dead-like figure you had encountered earlier, he appeared considerably more alert.
"Hey, Fushiguro," the pink-haired boy says with a grin, "This person has found your cat."
Fushiguro's eyes widen just a bit as he gazes at you. "You found Toto?" he asks, disbelief and relief intertwining in his voice.
"Toto," you echoed in a hushed tone, nodding with a warm smile. "Yeah, I followed him and managed to coax him into my room. He's napping right now."
Fushiguro's tense expression softens, and he lets out a sigh of relief. "Can I come see him?" he asks.
“You can do more than that. You can take him,” you quipped lightly. “Sneaking him into my room was the most anxious I’ve been all month.”
"Thank you for finding him," he says sincerely. "I've been searching for him all day. I don't know how he got out."
The pink-haired boy chuckles. "Looks like we've got a hero here," he teases you.
You shrug, feeling a bit embarrassed but glad to have helped. "It was just a stroke of luck, really."
As you step aside to let Fushiguro into your room, he enters, and you follow him inside, closing the door behind you. Toto is still curled up on the pillow, sleeping peacefully. Fushiguro approaches the cat, and as soon as Toto hears his owner's voice, he stirs, stretching and then opening his eyes. He lets out a soft meow of recognition.
Kneeling beside his feline friend, Fushiguro gently stroked Toto's fur while conversing in hushed tones. His voice, you noticed, possessed a soothing quality that stirred something within you. He could be good at ASMR, you muse.
“Little brat,” he murmurs, his fingers running through Toto's fur.
The sight of the two of them together warms your heart just a bit. It's clear that Fushiguro cares deeply for his cat. You feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that you played a part in bringing them back together.
Fushiguro's eyes remain fixed on his beloved Toto as he gently scoops the cat into his arms. Toto purrs contentedly, nuzzling against Fushiguro's chest. His hands run over the top of Toto’s head, and you wonder if his hands are soft or rough to touch. They look calloused. You wonder why.
As you watch them, a thought crosses your mind. "You know," you say, breaking the silence, "I didn't catch your name back in the kitchen."
Fushiguro glances up from Toto, his emerald-green eyes meeting yours. There's a hint of curiosity in his gaze. "It's Megumi Fushiguro," he replies. "And you?"
You introduce yourself with a smile, as you stand there in your own room — awkward and shy all too suddenly. You wonder what the next step is. The next step is for him to leave, right?
“Thanks again for finding Toto,” he says.
“Like I said, it’s no worries,” you say. “But ah— why do you have a cat?”
“I just found him outside, and he was malnourished, I think. So, I’ve been feeding him for a month now. I’ll set him up at a shelter or have my sister take him soon. Whatever works out.”
“That’s sweet of you,” you say.
“It’s…whatever,” he says, a bit of red on his cheeks as he clears his throat. “I’ll get going now.”
You nod, reluctantly but you’re still in a daze and unsure of what you can say to make him stay.
Just as he’s about to leave, he stops, halfway through the door, but still inside your room. “Um— Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” you respond. You wonder if he was about to say something else.
You wonder as you wash your dishes that night. Sharp at 2 a.m. as you do, the rhythmic sound of water splashing against the dishes fills the room as you continue your late-night chore, humming the tune of the song playing in your ears as you go through the plates.
“Hey,” you hear, and you’re suddenly startled, your hair rising as you turn to spot Megumi Fushiguro.
“God,” you exclaimed, rinsing your hands and drying them on a towel. “Hope you don’t make it a habit to startle me,” you say as you lower your headphones.
“Sorry,” he says. “I— I came to ask you something. I know it’s creepy at this hour but I had a feeling I may catch you at this time since I did yesterday.”
“Right,” you say, gulping. “Right, what do you want to ask?”
"Coffee," he stated simply.
Your brows raise. “You want… coffee?” you inquired, turning to your shelf. "Well, I do have coffee."
"No," he clarified, "I meant, would you like some coffee?"
"I have coffee," you reiterated. "As I just mentioned..."
He tuts, “Do you want to have coffee with me?” he asks. “As a date, to be clear.”
“A date?”
“Yes,” he says.
“I— Sure,” you say with a soft smile. “Of course.”
Megumi stares back at you, soft patches of sheen wetness coating your hand, the hoodie hanging loose on your figure, and the warm yellow glow hitting your face. He wonders if this is one of those moments that are special. He wonders if that’s the reason why time seems to have slowed down just for a few quick seconds. He wonders if this image will be etched into his memory forever if he’ll recall this as he says beside you in bed, but he’s thinking too ahead — all he asked you for was coffee. He’ll just have to see how that goes first.
“I’ll see you tomorrow. At 5?” he asks.
“Yeah. At 5 — that works.” You smile.
“You listen to Amy Winehouse,” he says, and you think maybe you should offer a seat at the dining table. He looks a bit awkward standing there.
“Um—” you think, wondering why he’s asking. “Yes, why?”
“You were humming the tune earlier?” he says.
“Oh,” you raise your brows in realisation. “Yeah, I do listen to her. She was my mum’s favorite artist,” you share.
“Ah. My dad liked her,” he adds, as he wonders what he’s doing — telling a stranger about his father while Yujji, a boy he’s likely the closest to besides his sister, settles for specks of information about his life. It’s odd, and suddenly Megumi feels the urge to run out of here.
“A man with great taste,” you say with a chuckle.
“Sure,” he says, a bit dejected. “Uh— I’ll get going now.”
“Right,” you say. “See you at 5 then, Megumi.”
“At 5,” he recants.
He hears the sound of tap running water as he smiles, making his way out of your kitchen.

Test of Love (Chapter One)
Chapter One
Summary: Day in and day out, your routine has been exactly the same as a jujutsu sorcerer. You can't complain, honestly. You just wish things were a little more interesting. When you get propositioned by two men, you have no choice but to see what they have going on. Joining a relationship would spice things up, wouldn't it?
A/N: I've had this idea loosely floating around my brain for a bit. Fret not, my short fics will continue but I wanted to write this too. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you!
CW: Slight blood, there's no smut this chapter W/C: 5,560

‘The clouds part, a ray of sunlight shining down on the pair.’
Your eyes glide over the page, fingers strumming the back of the book.
“What’re you reading?” Gojo’s voice startles you from the scene you had built in your head based on the words in front of you.
You jump in your seat, turning to see him leaning against your desk. It was no surprise he was here, he often came and went whenever he pleased. But he could have at least knocked.
“A Trial of Lovers.” You respond, bringing your eyes back to the words in front of you.
“Sounds boring.”
You hum, intent on not paying him any mind. Gojo could be a handful, but he wasn’t that hard to manage once you got to know him. You just learned to tune him out.
“Why aren’t you paying attention to your students? Reckless of you.” He continues.
Maybe you wouldn’t be able to ignore him.
“They’re just studying today.” You say, turning the page.
The room is quiet besides the two of you, the four students either glued to their textbooks or watching the interaction unfold in front of them.
“A book can be a weapon. And you have a very talented weapon user in case you were unaware.”
“Salmon.” Inumaki agrees. He always did like stirring up trouble.
“What if she tries to kill Yuuta with it?” Gojo says, clearly trying to get a rouse out of you.
“Maki, are you gonna try killing Yuuta with your textbook?” You ask, keeping your eyes trained down.
“Not unless he pisses me off.”
“What?” Yuuta responds.
You look up at Gojo and smile.
“Yuuta’s harmless, he wouldn’t piss her off so I think we’re good.”
“Harmless? I wouldn’t call him that.” Gojo responds.
“Where are your students?” You accuse.
He was much more lax with his, often leaving them to fend for themselves when he went on missions. You couldn’t say you blamed him. It wasn’t like he had much of a choice, but still.
“I sent them out to take care of a second grade. They’ll be fine, Megumi is with them.”
You clear your throat, eyes focused on the book in front of you even though you were no longer reading.
“He’s still a child.” Even as you speak, your nerves feel more at ease. If you were to trust any of the students, it would be Megumi. Even if that was the case, you still thought they shouldn’t be left alone. Gojo trusted Megumi which was good, but it bugged you that he may have trusted him a bit too much. Even the greatest sorcerers make mistakes, much less ones that were under 18.
“And Nobara is just as, if not more violent than Maki. What if she kills Yuuji?” You knew she wouldn’t.
“She wouldn’t do that.” Gojo responds slyly.
You slap your book closed and set it on the desk in front of you.
“What do you want, Gojo?”
Your eyes flick across his body. His blindfold was on like usual, his ensemble completely put together as it always was. You would pay to see him look unprepared.
“Are you busy after school?” He smiles, his body relaxed as he stares down at you.
This was something he always did. Flirt with you, while you ignored his advances. It was the nature of your friendship, it didn’t bother you so much as it might bother someone else.
“Class, you guys can leave early.” You announce, smiling as you watch them hop out of the room.
You stand up and face Gojo again. He was wearing a cocky grin, no doubt waiting for your response. He thought you would say yes, even though you denied him every time. You weren’t opposed to going out with him, there were just other factors in the mix.
“Gojo, in case you forgot you have a boyfriend.”
Gojo huffs and leans back even more, seemingly prepared for your rejection.
“I didn’t forget. We’re trying something new. Open relationship. He gets to see who he wants and I can see who I want.”
The response stuns you a bit. He had never mentioned that before. The offer seemed more appealing at his revelation. You had fun with Gojo, and he was good looking. You just didn’t want to be the reason he was kicked on the streets.
It seems he knows that he’s wearing you down, his grin showing back up.
“Come on, let’s just go for a walk around the park. Promise I don’t bite. Unless you’re into that, of course.”
An image conjures up in your mind before you can stop it. One where he’s on top of you, mouth open as he nibbles on your neck. You shake your head, trying to rid the naughty thought as best as you could. You awkwardly chuckle and grab your things, following him out the door. A walk would be harmless, wouldn’t it?
The weather graced you today it seems, as clear skies shine above you and an acceptable temperature wraps around your body. You were at a park near the school, one that had lots of families and several street vendors.
You actually were hungry. And Gojo being Gojo decided to jump at the opportunity to buy something sweet, assuring you that he would buy your food as well.
While you wait, you find a lonely bench sitting in the middle of the park. It’s surrounded by large trees, trees much older than you. It’s refreshing to be out of the school for once. You can’t remember the last time you spent a normal day out in society.
You loved your job, but it could be exhausting at times.
“Order up!” Gojo’s cheery voice interrupts your thoughts.
He’s holding two crepes. One with fruit, the other with chocolate.
“We can share if you want.” He says, holding the fruit one out to you, mouth darting out to bite into his.
You smile up at him and grab the treat, eyes flicking over the colors that lit up the food. When you take a bite you taste berries melting with whip cream, the flavor swirling around your mouth.
“This is really good Gojo, thank you.”
He offers a serene smile as he takes another bite of his crepe while sitting next to you. Chocolate decorates his lip and you giggle in response. He almost looked childish. It suited him, in a way. People might say he was immature, which wouldn’t really be wrong, but a part of you knew he grew up too fast.
You make idle chatter as you watch families fill in the park. You spent so much time around sorcerers, you often forgot what it was like to be near normal people. Their carefree attitudes lit up your heart, putting your mind at ease.
This is what you’re doing it for, this is why you fight. You remind yourself as you watch a toddler topple over before getting right back up, a grin across his face.
“It’s weird, right?” You find yourself saying.
You haven’t finished your crepe yet, but Gojo has been done with his for awhile; focusing on the brown syrup that muddled his fingers.
He hums as he licks his finger, looking up in front of him.
“The families. The smiles. The people.”
You don’t have to elaborate, Gojo knows exactly what you mean. Sorcerers rarely have families and rarely smile. Their lifestyles were much different than yours. Your stomach turns as you wait for his response.
“Yeah, I mean I guess so. It’s not much weirder than sorcerers.”
You didn’t really expect him to feel the same way as you. He may look like an average man, but he wasn’t. While you couldn’t relate to average people, he couldn’t relate to anyone. Not people or sorcerers.
Lonely, you thought. You wonder if the feeling keeps him up late at night.
“Thank you for taking me out. This is nice.” You settle, attempting to divert your attention from the macabre.
Gojo leans back, kicking his long legs out in front of him. His arms spread out on the bench, head facing the sky. He always took up so much space, not that you minded. You figured the world was too small for him, so you didn’t mind making more room.
“It is, isn’t it?”
You offer up a bite of your crepe which he gladly accepts, swallowing before saying he preferred his more.
“I actually had something I wanted to bring up. You’ll learn about it later in the next meeting, but I figured I’d tell you now.”
Your head perks up in interest, your attention completely on him.
“There’s been a slew of random attacks at the school.”
The words sink in your chest, creating a pool in your stomach. The school? That was your sacred place. Your home. It was all you had.
“The school? I haven’t heard anything.”
“Not really at the school, more so around it. They’ve been happening at frequent intervals the past week all within 5 miles of the school. It’s all been small attacks. But it definitely is something. One wouldn’t be a big deal, but with the amount that’s been happening… someone is definitely targeting Jujutsu High. Not enough to actually destroy it but enough to peak our interest.”
As much as you hated to admit it, he was right. It wouldn’t have mattered if it only happened a couple of times, but there was a pattern. Someone was clearly focusing on the school.
“What does it mean?”
Gojo taps his foot, his head in the clouds. If anyone knew what it was about, it would be him.
“I’m not sure. It’s been relatively easy to handle so far. I’m just worried about the fact it draws our attention away. The more people we send out to watch the border means the less available sorcerers we’ll have. I don’t like it.”
He rarely sounds serious, but you’re able to pick up on the dark underlying tone in the way he’s talking right now. He didn’t seem too stressed out, maybe inconvenienced at best. It wasn’t like there was much you could do at the current moment anyway.
You finish your crepe, the mood dramatically shifting after the conversation. You hate to see Gojo like this, his mind swarmed with thoughts and unable to focus on anything else.
“So, tell me about your boyfriend.”
Gojo raises his head and looks at you, one of his eyebrows shooting up.
“Weird thing to bring up on a date.”
You scoff and nudge your foot against his.
“If I’m gonna be apart of this I wanna know more about you.”
Gojo’s eyes flick up as if in deep thought. You didn’t know much about his boyfriend. He and Gojo were longtime friends, having gone to Jujutsu High together. Over the years you learned he was the more responsible of the two. You also learned about his cursed technique. Rare and strong, curse manipulation. You were intrigued by the idea. Using what you fight against to help you, it was nothing short of incredible.
“He’s nice. Almost too nice. He understands people more than me. Really strong too. A bit stern.”
You keep your gaze focused on the side of Gojo’s face. You don’t spend much time looking at him normally, so you take advantage of the closeness you have right now to appreciate him. His white eyelashes flutter as he looks at the sky, bright pink lips parted as he speaks.
Handsome, he was so very handsome.
As the two of you were in public he decided to forego his blindfold and instead use a pair of sunglasses. His hair lay messy atop his head, but it still looked good.
He cracks a grin as he notices you staring.
“See something you like?”
You quickly turn forward, the act of being caught embarrassing you. The only thing worse than an attractive man was a man who was attractive and knew it.
“He sounds nice. Nicer than you.” You say, hoping to annoy him.
Instead, Gojo lets out a quiet sigh.
“He is.”
It was odd to see him like this. Gojo cared for people, he wasn’t a robot, but he rarely admired them. With the few conversations you had with him you were able to tell he admired his boyfriend, he really loved him.
Your lips part as you start to ask Gojo what his boyfriend's name was, but his phone cuts you off.
Gojo clicks his tongue and looks down, noting a text from Yaga.
“Can’t even leave for a few hours.” He complains under his breath.
You know he’s trying to put on a show, but you can’t help but feel bad. He was right. He never had time to himself, always being forced into doing something or the other for the higher ups. His life wasn’t truly his own.
Your relationship with Gojo was complicated. You liked to tease him, but deep down you knew he always got the shit end of the stick.
You stand up, swiping your hands on your pants. It was starting to get hot out, your hair sticking to your neck. You reach a hand out to Gojo, wordlessly offering help.
He smirks at your hand, looking over the top of his glasses.
“Cute.”
You tear your hand away, not wanting to give him the satisfaction if he was just going to tease you.
“Hey! What if I need help getting up?”
“Stand up yourself, worlds strongest sorcerer.” You mumur, stepping away to start walking towards the school.
Gojo whines behind you before jumping up, jogging towards you. The rest of the walk goes by fast, the both of you teasing each other back and forth. One of the good things about Gojo, although there were many (not that you would admit it), was that he was incredibly fun to talk to. As long as you were in the mood, of course.
Your body chills when you step inside the school. The air conditioning soothes your skin the second you get inside.
“You’re back.” Yaga says, looking down, shuffling papers back and forth.
“Sadly.” Gojo responds.
“What were you two up to?”
“A date.” Gojo says confidently.
You train your face to say neutral but you feel your blood simmer. You weren’t exactly planning on telling Yaga, but of course Gojo wouldn’t keep it to himself.
“And Geto?” Yaga asks.
Geto. That was Gojo’s boyfriend's name. His last name anyway. You wanted to know what his first name was, that’s what you were planning on asking before Yaga texted.
“He’s aware.”
Yaga heaves out a breath, used to Gojos antics by now. Anything that could be weird by someone else’s standards was considered normal if Gojo was the one doing it.
“I need you to finish this paperwork before going home tonight. And don’t make someone else do it for you.” Yaga hands you both a stack of papers, aiming the last half of the sentence to Gojo.
You knew it wouldn’t take you long, as long as Gojo didn’t attempt to get you to do his for him. Even if he asked nicely you were going to refuse. You had plans tonight. You needed to go to the book store to get the second book to the one you were reading this morning.
It takes you two hours and your fingers are sore by the time you’re done, but you manage to finish all your paperwork. Halfway through you had to lock Gojo out so you could focus. You had fun on your date, but tonight was your night. A man wasn’t going to get in the way of that.
~~~
You weren’t sure what happened to the weather. This morning when you were with Gojo it was bright and sunny, but now the sky was littered with clouds. You didn’t mind it, in fact you preferred it. When you were reading you much preferred for it to rain, finding it way more soothing.
The bookstore was empty today, except for a couple of people that hid out in the shelves. You liked it here. It made you feel somewhat normal. There were no sorcerers, curses, or villains here. Just books.
You had no plans for the rest of the night, besides having you time, so you decide to find the book you’re looking for to read there. There were chairs littered throughout the building, each soft and worn down after years of use.
Curling up on a chair, you open your book and dive into it. The words capture all your attention as you grip the front and back of the book. It’s much better than the first, you think. The author has such a way with words. You’re so engrossed you don’t notice a man approaching you.
He sits on the chair in front of yours, his own book nestled in his lap.
“That’s a good book,” he says.
You look up to find a man sitting in front of you. He looked perfect. There wasn’t flaw on his body.
Long black hair that was pulled up in a bun, caramel eyes trained on you as he wore a small smile.
Normally, you would be pissed off that someone was breaking the bookstore code ‘no talking’, but you weren’t. You were drawn in.
“It is.” You respond, trying to look away from him but finding yourself incapable.
“I love the author, I finished all his books so I was here looking for something else.”
You think you could listen to him speak forever, the way his voice rolls out from his lips causes your body to relax.
“Me too, once I finish this then I’ll be done.”
His smile spreads wider. Your stomach turns under his gaze.
“I’m afraid I haven’t found any stories as interesting as his.” He continues. “I really liked his use of butterflies in that book though. Very beautiful.”
You bite your lip and tear your eyes away if only for a second to gain control.
“Me too.”
He watches the way you fiddle with the book in your lap.
“My name is Suguru, what’s yours?”
You take a deep breath before telling him your name. Normal girls would be scared of a stranger talking to them, but you weren’t normal. You were sure if it came down to it you would be able to take care of him. After all, there were very few people stronger than you, and you were on a date with one of them earlier.
You weren’t scared of Suguru, you were captivated by him.
His smile morphs into something more calming after you speak. It sends fireworks off in your stomach.
“You have a lovely name.”
You clear your throat before darting your eyes away, unable to look at him any longer.
“Thank you.” You murmur, fiddling with your outfit.
After work you had gone home to switch clothes, wanting something more comfortable. You were glad you did, as the clothes you wore now were much more flattering. A loose sweater with yoga pants, perfect for lounging about while you read.
“I didn’t mean to interrupt you, I apologize. I just saw what you were reading.”
“It’s okay, is this your first time here? I’ve never seen you before.”
Suguru wets his bottom lip, and you have to pry your eyes away from it.
“It is. Normally I go to a bookstore in the next town over, but it’s under renovations so I decided to come here. It’s not far from my boyfriends work.”
Ah.
There it is.
You don’t know why you expected anything different. Part of you was hoping he might be hitting on you. You did go on a date with Gojo earlier, but it wasn’t anything serious.
“What do you do for work?” You ask.
“I’m a freelancer.”
Vague, you think.
“And you?”
There’s no way you can tell him you’re a jujutsu sorcerer so you settle on something close enough.
“I’m a teacher.”
“Noble, I like it.”
The rain beats down on the roof of the book store, water running down the windows making it hard to see outside. It’s calming, Suguru is calming. You keep your gaze focused on him as the two of you talk. At first you were almost intimidated, but you were slowly getting used to the heat of his gaze.
“I enjoyed the butterflies as well. It’s a shame we don’t have them around here. I’d love to watch them like they did in the book.” You say.
“It’s probably because of all the people. There are places you can go to see them, would you be interested?”
You pause and stare at him. Was that… A date invitation?
It wasn’t, there was no way.
Maybe he meant it in a friendly way.
“What about your boyfriend? I would love to, but I just want to make sure before I agree.”
You’d hate to get the wrong idea.
“He’ll be okay with it. I can ask though if you want me to.”
You fiddle with your shirt and watch as he pulls out his phone. Suguru types a quick message, not even a second later his phone vibrates with an answer.
He turns the screen towards you, letting you read the words.
Suguru: I’m gonna go on a date with this girl from the book store
Asshole: Alright
Asshole: Is she hot?
Suguru: She’s beautiful
Your heart stutters at the compliment, your curiosity slightly piqued at the name in his phone. Asshole? Maybe that wasn’t that weird.
“Would you be free tomorrow?” He asks while sliding his phone away.
“Yeah, as long as it’s after I get off.”
“Nice, I can pick you up or we can meet here?”
You trusted him, but you wanted to get to know him more before bringing him back to your house.
“Let’s meet here?”
“Okay. What’s your number?”
You give him your number and he shares his. It’s close to closing time once you finish so you decide to head home, the encounter with Suguru still fresh on your mind.
He seemed normal. Not in a bad way, but normal nonetheless. You mostly interacted with sorcerers, so going on a date with someone who wasn’t one felt weird. You wouldn’t have to be worried about work or anything else. You would be able to have average conversations.
You couldn’t wait.
~~~
You feel giddy when you wake up the next day. Your date would be later in the afternoon and you were having a hard time containing yourself. All you had to do was get by the day, which wouldn’t be hard. There was a small mission you had to take Inumaki and Panda on, but after that you would be free.
As you stood there you watched the two of them work, paying attention to their form so you could give pointers after. It donned on you how odd it really was.
If Suguru asked you what you did today were you supposed to tell him you fought monsters with a personified panda?
Yeah, you would have to keep that to yourself.
You would have been able to keep it all to yourself, that is until Panda accidentally scratches you with his paw, causing blood to leak from your cheek. You lecture him to pay attention to his surroundings as the red liquid pours from your face. It takes the rest of the ride home for it to stop bleeding, and the throbbing pain doesn’t go away. You were gonna have to figure out how to explain that to Suguru.
The second the work day is done, you’re rushing home to put together your outfit. Suguru didn’t tell you really what to wear, only advising that it should be something light as you would be spending time outside. You settle on a flowy dress that cut off above your knees, you actually felt cute.
You leave your house early, intent on arriving before Suguru to make a good impression. Unfortunately for you, it seems Suguru had the same plan.
You check your phone, you had arrived ten minutes early and Suguru was already leaning against the bookstore, looking comfortable as he slouches.
“I’m sorry! Were you waiting long?”
Suguru looks up from his phone at the sound of your voice. His eyes drag across your figure, the action making the hair on your neck stand on edge. Those eyes. Were you ever going to get used to them?
His lips quirk up in a small smile, putting his phone away. He was wearing a black shirt with black sweatpants, his hair half up, the top pinned behind his head.
“No, I just got here,”
You find that hard to believe.
“You look amazing.” He finishes.
You try to stave off the embarrassment, waving your hand. When Suguru walks up to you, you finally notice how huge he is. He was tall, with a structure that took your breath away.
You wonder what he did to stay in shape.
“What happened to your cheek?” His voice is dripping with concern, brows furrowed as he raises his hand up. His thumb brushes on the skin below your cut.
“Oh! Um, one of my students was a bit reckless today. It didn’t hurt all that much.”
His eyes dance across your face, digesting your answer before dropping his hand. He looked genuinely concerned. It was cute. He must’ve been the protective type.
“I see. I’m sorry that happened.” He sounds remorseful even though he wasn’t the one to cause it. “Are you ready?”
And with that the two of you set off. Suguru told you he was showing you a place with butterflies, and you weren’t quite sure what he meant by that. Excitement bubbles in your veins as you walk.
The entire time he spoke you couldn’t help but put all your undivided attention on him. He was magnetizing. A natural born speaker, you thought.
Suguru must notice your silence as he stops himself from talking.
“My bad, I’m rambling.”
“No! Not at all. I like listening, you have a soothing voice.”
“Well thank you.” Pink dust settles on his cheeks.
As you inch closer to your destination, your fingers brush against his, the movement causing your heart to race.
Would it be weird to ask him if you could hold his hand?
“We’re here.” Suguru stops in front of a building. It was a bit unassuming, grey concrete walls and few windows.
There were butterflies here?
Suguru notices your expression and chuckles.
“Trust me.”
You can’t find it in your heart to doubt him.
He leads you inside, walking up to the front desk where a middle aged woman is standing by a computer. Her eyes are kind, hands weathered as she types.
“Can we get two tickets for the observatory?”
You fidget behind Suguru, appreciating the length of his hair cascading down his back.
You kind of wanted to touch it.
“Of course! Here you go sweetheart.” The lady digs around, grabbing two tickets while Suguru pulls out cash.
The exchange is over as soon as it started, and Suguru is leading you down a long hallway. When he pushes the doors open at the end of it, you’re greeted by fresh air, a short path leading to a giant glass dome. It’s hard to see on the inside of it, but it looks like it’s filled with plants.
“Let’s go.” He says with a grin, reaching his hand out towards you.
Your heart skips a beat at the gesture. You grab his hand, interlacing your fingers together. He’s warm. His palm the perfect mix between soft and calloused. His long fingers don’t get past your attention either. Suguru pulls you along to the dome, holding the door open for you.
When you step inside you’re hit with an overwhelming fragrance. It smelled like a mix between soil and flowers, the sweet scent covering you completely.
It’s nothing short of amazing. There’s plants everywhere, you had never been to a jungle before but you were sure this is what it would look like.
“Suguru, this is…”
“Look!” He urges, pointing up.
You snap your head up, following the direction of his finger. Above you was a small colony of monarch butterflies, maybe twenty of them flying around. They were low enough that you were able to appreciate the brightness of their wings, orange hues darting around as they flew.
Your lips part in amazement and you’re unable to tear your gaze away. You were sure you had never seen anything this beautiful before.
“Amazing, right?”
Suguru’s smooth voice floats over to you, snapping you back to him. When you turn around to look at him, his eyes are already on you. His mouth is spread in a soft grin, eyes twinkling as he looks down at you.
“This is perfect, Suguru. How did you find this place?”
“After I read the book we were talking about I just had to know what it felt like to be surrounded by butterflies so I did some digging and found it. I come here every so often, although it’s been awhile since I have. I figured it would be more fun if I brought someone with me. I was right.” His eyes are glued on your smile as you look away, following the butterflies with your eyes.
You find a walkway and set a slow pace, stopping every so often to read the metal plaques that were placed about, explaining the different types of flora and butterflies. You weren’t entirely sure what you were expecting, but it definitely wasn’t this. Your chest swelled with joy as you went on, listening as Suguru read you the plaques.
“It really is magical, just like it was in the book. Thank you.” You can’t hide the vulnerability from your voice.
Suguru’s eyes crinkle when he smiles, a cute habit you noticed, and he squeezes your hand.
“Of course, thank you for joining me.”
The two of you spend several hours there, a leisurely pace set between you. It was hard to want to go home when you knew the world outside was this beautiful. You wonder if colors will seem dull compared to this place. You were betting on it.
When families begin to filter in you both decide to head out. You were glad kids were gonna experience the same joy you had, but you wanted more privacy with Suguru, even if you had to go home soon. If you could spend more time with him, you would. Unfortunately duty calls and you had work early in the morning, effectively cutting your date much shorter than you would have liked.
Much like yesterday's date.
You agree to let him walk you back home, if only to spend as much time together as possible. He never let go of your hand ever since the observatory, and you were grateful for it. His large palm provided some sense of protection, relief you didn’t know you needed.
Your apartment comes into view far quicker than you were hoping. You could have lived on campus, but you instead opted to find a place elsewhere. Jujutsu High was your home, but you wanted to be able to separate yourself from it occasionally. You were able to find an apartment for a decent price, only staying there to sleep and change. Every so often when it was too late, you crashed in a dorm at the school, but you made sure to keep those occurrences low.
“This is it.” You sigh out, turning to face Suguru.
“I had fun today.” He stops and looks down at you, his body relaxed as he addresses you.
“I did too! Maybe we can hang out again sometime?”
Kiss me, kiss me, you internally beg.
Your eyes focus on the way his lips morph as he talks.
“I’d love that.”
Please, kiss me.
Suguru keeps your hand in his as he leans down, placing his lips gently on your forehead.
Oh.
That was different, yet it made your heart beat faster than a normal kiss would have. The intimacy of it all struck you like a freight train. No one had given you a forehead kiss before. His lips linger for a moment, before he’s pulling away all too soon.
“I’ll call you?”
Your throat squeezes as you try to force words out, but you’re all too flustered.
“I’ll be waiting.” You say, trying to seem cool.
Suguru chuckles softly before letting go of your hand. Your palm feels chilly the second he lets go. You’ll see him again, you remind yourself. Hopefully.
You force yourself to make your way to your door, body trembling in excitement. It felt like you took all the butterflies home with you, their wings fluttering inside your chest as you close the door behind you. After a couple of deep breaths you’re able to cool down, although you still felt a tingle on your forehead where his lips were.
Two dates in two days, not too bad.
Hopefully the momentum will stay strong.
As you get ready for bed, you replay the events of the past two days over in your head, your heart swelling with exhilaration. When you drift off to sleep, your dreams are filled with crepes and butterflies.
